About
Solarpunk is a survival game in a technologically advanced world of floating islands. Alone or together with 4 friends, you can construct buildings, grow food, craft gadgets and explore distant islands with your own airship.
Use sunlight, wind and water to create an energy system and automate your processes like gathering resources and watering your plants.
Design your dream home base with a wide range of materials and decorations. You’re free to build cozy spaces, add tiny details, and make your island feel just like home.
These buildings were crafted by our amazing community in the demo!

Generate electricity using wind and solar energy. Weather conditions affect how much energy you produce, so you’ll need to plan ahead. Store energy in batteries and use wireless power to keep your base running smoothly.

Play solo or with friends. Everyone has their own inventory, and you can decide whether to build something together or create your own little corner in the sky.

In Solarpunk, you live in symbiosis with animals. There is no exploitation, only coexistence. Pigs, for example, will dig up truffles if treated well. Growing fruits and vegetables is your main source of food. Plant seeds in the ground and harvest them once they’re fully grown.

Automate your tasks using transport drones to gather resources, giving you more time to build and explore your skybound home.

Each player can build their own airship. Use it to travel to surrounding islands and discover new resources.

As a survival game Solarpunk works very differently than other typical survival game. In a typical survival game, your base serves as a means to help you explore the world (you craft weapon, upgrade armor, craft resources, etc.) and your goal/challenge is to explore the world. In Solarpunk, this relation is at the polar opposite. Your goal is for most part to build your base and the exploration you do is mostly to unlock new ways to improve your base. The exploration in this game is solely gated by delivery checkpoint and the exploration is not any harder on the first island than on the last island. The interesting part of the game is mostly to build your base more than anything else. The build system is at first fairly minimalist, but it's a good enough foundation to build a wide array of building and structure if you have the creativity to do so. Ex.: The game doesn't have built-in chimney structure, but you can build something fairly close to it with a mix-match of wood and brick panel and support. Overall it's a great game if this style of game fits you.

I'm halfway into the game now, haven't looked ahead at the ending on youtube or anything. And I'm loving this game. It's a chill "plant crops and raise animals" game. BUT at the same time this game literally feels like it's a full time JOB. You have to fly around to different islands that have deposits of various minerals, bring them back to your home island and run them through a forge to make ingots, then use the ingots to build irrigation sprinklers for your crops, food and water bowls for your animals, a nice house for yourself, a green house to protect your crops from high winds and lightning strikes, lighting, furniture, production machinery, cargo drones, and solar/wind generators to power it all. So it FEELS very chill, but you will ALWAYS be working on something. Every minute you'll be busy doing something in this game. There is no down time, no "idle" systems whatsoever here. The down side: you can't play for just a 20 minute session. You will get lost in this game for at least 2 hours at a time. I hear the game has multiplayer, but I have no friends so I play as a single player. Which is probably why I always feel like there's so much to do all the time. LOL. I'm sure in multiplayer it's EASIER since you can divide up the tasks and have one person travel around to get more ore while the other person tends to the crops and feeds the animals.
There are too few automatic systems. The game should include: Auto farming Item conveyors or transport pipes Auto crafting Auto furnaces
Solarpunk was a really enjoyable experience while it lasted — got all achievements in about 20 hours. The vibe, the building, and the overall concept are great, but it does feel quite short. I'd love to see more content added, especially new islands to explore and build on — there's clearly a solid foundation here that could support a lot more. Still worth playing, just wish there was more of it. 7/10, would explore more islands if given the chance.
