Amazing Idea and vibes, bad execution/optimisation. (As with most games on this generation, hoping it gets better with updates.) - Pro: The vibes of flying through the sky and travelling to each objective is relating and calming. The designs are lovely and the FMC and her magic form are beautiful. Con's: Needed WAY MORE time in the oven. System 4080 Super, i7 13th - Multiple crashes. - Stutter city (Possible shader cashing going into new areas/heavy areas with trees etc.) - Night Time impossible to see due to how EXTREMELY dark it gets. - Progression stopping bugs/cant pick up items. Arguable:- - Speed control difficulty having too go extreme speeds in narrow areas (Using keyboard so extra hard for me.). - Having to land collection tasks when you go into fly mode and zoom fast away from the objective or trying to land on a building without sliding to oblivion. - Objective confusion of what needs to be done to continue (Not sure where to go first/what is needed where to get it in what area. Possibly a me issue.). - DLSS-like ghosting on the character models (There are no upscale options in game so i dont know what is doing that or if its the style).
I want to start by saying that I think the one thing this game really gets right is the vibes. I like the chill and subtle chimes of music, and the world does have a visual charm to it with its low poly and well lit presentation. For anyone looking to buy this game, you should know what you’re buying. The first few hours of this game is an adventure collect-a-thon with other small challenges. If you’ve ever explored the world of Genshin Impact, you get a lot of the same experience exploring this world. There is unfortunately, so, so many problems with this game. I want to preface that I was playing this game maxed out on a 4080 and a 7700X. Here are a myriad of issues I encountered in my first 2 hours of gameplay. I'm also editing this as the game develops so that I can try to stay accurate to what's happening with this game. Some issues may be fixed with with their near daily patches. Or they may add more issues. More on that below. -I had a lot of performance issues, which are now supposedly fixed. -Graphics options have reset on me a few times. -The game's presentation appears blurry, even at 4k. -The settings page overall needs to be less vague and give real settings so we know what we’re doing. -The game’s FOV is wayy too cranked. Slide it all the way down for the best experience. This should be tuned I think. -When it’s dark, it’s incredibly difficult to navigate many areas. -Shadows appear bugged where they pop in and out of existence at the edges of the screen. -Corruption orbs can also pop in and out of existence in close proximity. -Overall a lot of unpolish in visuals/animation and plenty of minor visual bugs. -NPCs think I’ve completed quests which I never knew I had and I just met them? I THEN get the introduction dialogue after. This may be supposedly fixed. -The Gravity altering island needs to be altered badly. I never get nausea in games but this made me almost throw up, especially with the time trail attached to it. -Jumping and being in the air for more than a second makes the camera want to stare at the ground. This is dev intended behavior and should be changed. I have been fighting it throughout the ground platforming. There’s already a shadow where my character will land. -Gliding is unfinished and almost useless. There is almost no maneuverability and this was slipped in 2 months before launch. -Activating flight near the ground launches the player high in the sky. This is really undesirable at times. -For a game that appears to be a lot about flying, there’s surprisingly not many things you can do while you fly. There’s more collectibles and some time trial gates. Sometimes it’s kinda clunky because of how tight things can get. More of your time is arguably spent on ground objectives as well. This observation is largely subjective though. -THE GAME RESET MY TUTORIAL PROGRESS AFTER THE LATEST PATCH 5/9. I'm back on tutorial island and have to do all the tasks again? Seriously?? To clarify, I did not hit new game. I still have flight. I did not have to do the intro again. I'm just locked in the tutorial field with the tasks to remove corruption again and activate obelisks. Considering the fact that this is a low poly indie game, why are the system GPU requirements so high? The recommended specs page explains that the purple corruption orbs require RTX cards. Why not just rewrite how these look? There are so many graphics cards that are locked out from trying this game because of some purple transparent orbs. The Dev team spoke publicly back in the beginning of April of how delaying this game allows them to further polish it. I think they actually don’t care about the launch state of this game. Why rush to release this game? They patch the game every day and are making GAME DESIGN altering decisions near or after launch. This clearly shows that this game is not finished. At least be honest with the players and launch this in early access. I highly suggest the team spends more time cooking and testing (important!) things before sending out patches. This game's history of patches have broken things a few times now, and not just for me. Fix the things that need to be fixed fast, but save your feature updates for when they're ready and polished. TLDR: I respectfully think that you should wait until the game hits a bigger sale and they really polish this game. The launch price of $20 is way too steep for such a cobbled together experience. Please try the demo before considering buying this game.

I love flying around! I wanna see where this game goes!
