This game... my friends: one hour of gameplay feels like 12 hours. If you wanna have "fun" for a very long time, go and get it! A nice feature to extend the gameplay: save the game and you'll lose all your fuel. Very funny when you're at the end of the map and have to drive with amazing !!10Km/h!! back to the base!!! The controls are AMAZING and the mechanics are so creative!!! BUY IT!!!

"Snowcat Simulator" ist ein Pistenraupen-Simulator. Enttäuscht wird man gleich zu Beginn, wenn man realisiert, daß das Spiel in keiner modernen Auflösung zum Laufen zu bringen ist. Man kann nur in altertümlichen Auflösungen spielen. Das funktioniert zwar, sieht aber ziemlich bescheiden aus. Wir finden uns in einem recht überschaubaren Skigebiet wieder und haben vier Fahrzeuge (eigentlich nur drei, denn zwei davon sind technisch identisch). Eine große und eine kleine Raupe mit Ketten und einen normal bereiften Servicetruck. An die Fahrzeuge lassen sich Elemente anbringen, an letzteren etwa eine Schneefräse oder auch an die kleine Raupe einen Haken und einen Transportschlitten. Da muß man aber erstmal drauf kommen, denn das Spiel erklärt nichts. Gar nichts. Ein Tutorial gibt es nicht. Ein Handbuch auch nicht. Tastenbelegung: wird nicht angezeigt. Durch wahlloses Auf-Die-Tastatur-Hämmern entdecken wir irgendwann, daß auf "F1" ein paar Dinge erläutert werden, aber eben nur ein paar. Daß wir mit "v" die Fahrzeuge wechseln können, müssen wir selber rausfinden. Und das nervt, weil wir schon zur zweiten Mission das Fahrzeug wechseln müssen. Das sagt uns nur keiner. Und solange wir das Fahrzeug nicht gewechselt haben, wird auf der Minimap stur das Ziel der ersten Mission angezeigt. Das ist mal Spieldesign der übelsten Sorte. Schon zur ersten Mission sind wir verwirrt. Denn die kleine Raupe braucht erstmal einen Haken, um dann einen Serviceschlitten anzuhängen, den wir an einen bestimmten Ort bringen sollen. Auf das mit dem Haken müssen wir selber kommen. Sonst gehts nicht weiter. Denn einen Spielmodus außerhalb der linearen Kampagne gibts nicht. Also, den gibts schon, nur nicht in diesem Spiel. Den gibts im "Skigebiets Simulator", der genau dasselbe Spiel ist, nur daß es eine freien Modus hat. Dafür ists dann auch teurer. Aber ansonsten: genau dasselbe Spiel. Aber zurück zum "Snowcat Simulator". Wenn wir den Versorgungsschlitten an den Ort gebracht haben... verschwindet er einfach. Natürlich. Was soll er auch sonst machen. Im Verlauf der Fahrt fällt uns denn auch die Physik auf, die nichts mit Realismus zu tun hat und uns gerne mal vor unlösbare Probleme stellt. Und die Missionen? Es gibt eigentlich nur zwei Sorten: bringe irgendwas irgendwo hin und bearbeite irgendeine Schneefläche. Letzteres läuft dann so, daß wir über ein abgestecktes Areal tuckern und eine Prozentanzeige vollkriegen müssen. Das kann auch mal fünf Minuten dauern und ist spannend wie an die Wand schauen. Und was passiert, wenn wir die 100% des Parkplatz-Schneeräumens erreicht haben? Es ist plötzlich die alte Schneetextur wieder da. Natürlich. Für eine Zweittextur hats anscheinend nicht gelangt. Über die Grafik sollte man kein Wort verlieren. Allein die Fahrzeuge sind optisch noch irgendwie erträglich. Der Sound ist albern, überdeckt aber meist die unerträgliche Musik recht gut. It is infact a vehicle simulation game where players are tasked to do basic labor jobs framed around a ski resort. As a simulator the game immediately fails by not providing an accurate physics system. Vehicles are light and bouncy the snow has no mass or volume. All this cause the experience to feel fake and painted on instead of an actual simulation. Additionally the generic vehicles lack any identification that combined with missing UI elements results in a lot of guesswork for players to figure out what vehicles are and how to use them.

Das Spiel hat hier richtig viele negative Reviews erhalten, die ich teilweise verstehen kann. Die Grafik ist definitiv nicht von 2014 (Erscheinungsjahr) sondern wie von anderen gesagt 2005 rum, deswegen jetzt nicht mehr zeitgemäß und fällt somit durch. Auch die Steuerung ist nicht die beste, man muss die Steuerungstasten bis zum Anschlag drücken und kommt manchmal schwer um die Kurve. Ich weiß nicht ob es gewollt ist, da es eine Simulation ist. Aber für Gamer eher belastend. In den Optionen gibt es keinerlei Steuerungshinweise und man muss sich selbst zurecht finden. Nur die Gerätetasten werden zum Glück angezeigt. Aber zum Beispiel wie man auf andere Maschinen wechselt wird nicht angezeigt (Taste V) Im Vergleich zum Farming Simulator ist das Game eher langweilig. Da man sich bei dem anderen genannten Simulator etwas aufbaut. Hier im Snowcat Simulator/Pistenraupen Simulator erledigt man nur Jobs. Die Musik passt stellenweise überhaupt nicht zum Feeling Trotz der vielen negativen Punkte, werde ich das Spiel nicht "in die Tonne werfen" und es als Zwischendurchspiel ansehen. Da es schlechtere Spiele gibt. Für Simulatoren Interessierete etwas interessant. Genre Neueinsteiger sollten die Finger davon lassen ;)

Nos ez lesz az extrém gyors értékelés. Szóval, olvasd el a leírást itt Steam-en, nézd meg a trailert és a képeket és felejetsd el a játékot örök életedre. Amikor valami annyira optimalizálatlan fos, hogy már a menüben!!!!! laggol akkor ott már gond van. Konkrétan majdnem lefagyott a gép, és még csak a menű töltött be. A poén pedig hogy csak 1280x1024-es felbontásban töltötte be, és ez is a max egyébként. Úgy hogy ennyi, ezért 8 eurót elkérni kb akkora pofátlanság mint egy hajléktalant kirabolni. Kerülni kell, messzíről olyan messzíről amilyen messziről csak lehet. Nem is pontozok, mert erre -100-nál jobbat nem is tudnék adni.

Snowcat Simulator is an older game from 2014. It's a venerable 10 years old at the time of this review. It's an "equipment simulator" game where you drive a variety of ski resort vehicles around and do various mundane tasks. If you can work out how to. These games can be really enjoyable, from a casual gamer (or even hardcore casual gamer) perspective. If they're well made. Just look at Euro Truck Sim. Snowcat Simulator is not well made. There's no tutorial, and the controls are locked, so you just have to rely on blind luck (and the occasional unrelated "tip" that might give you some clues if you're lucky). The first job is to collect a little trailer thing and drive it up to a ski slope. Where is the trailer? Where is the ski slope? How do you connect the trailer to your little snow mobile? Nobody knows. It's not just the needlessly obtuse nature of the game. The game physics are phoned in. I got stuck on a wooden packing pallet and couldn't escape while I was trying to hitch the trailer for my first big job. Boss was mad, I got fired from the ski resort. But seriously, this is just bad, it's clunky, it's more frustrating than fun. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 5 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Snowcat Simulator has the preposterous price of around $4 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.
