Reviews
As the guy who sponsored this game, can confirm its pretty good! (I have not been paid to make this review, it's just a lovely game, go play it)
The Children yearn for more library of runia (I'll see this game grow with great ambitions)
A "PM-like" of passably competent make and design. Uses most of the mechanics that fans of this sort of thing are familiar with, but with very scattered and bipolar balancing. Almost every other Cube and item has a Droplet effect or stat description that is almost laughably clunky, and so is the very basic gameplay, at times, but I understand the need arose to make this game be different and stand out. Still, it's fun to mess around in, and the women are uncharacteristically cute. I just hope, in my dream of dreams, in my heart of hearts, that this was not a student project.
Overall I liked it. There are a lot of neat mechanics to the game like emotion and getting new cards and abilities as you progress through nodes, I felt some of the cards and abilities could be explained better as they're introduced but I grew to understand them as I played. I'm not too experienced with card battlers but even I found this one was kinda easy, at least from what's out now. There were a few harder parts where I had to strategize and it wasn't mind numbing, so that's fine. I'm sure as more content is released it will have a more balanced difficulty. The artstyle was nice and there were a few funny moments in the story, but the dialogue was lengthy and skip-worthy most the time. I'd say its worth the price, especially knowing there is a lot of development going on and future plans. It's just not amazing (yet).
This game is extremely fun. I really like it and would recommend it to anyone that wants to have a fun time with roguelike and cards mechanics. Also, the story was peak writing. Looking forward to future updates! :)
It's neat, some of the achievements are vague but I can certainly recommend it. I hope the game gets official modding capabiities when it fully comes out.
Good base, I like the game and the characters. Music was also good. Biggest problem currently would be the lack of a save option in between nodes for the story, it is not too bad right now but could cause issues during any potential longer story section in the future.
As of now, Snow Fall feels like a early beta for roguelike Library of Ruina (LoR) spinoff. The bones of something great are there, but the game has not come together yet. The UI needs some serious work, everything needs a balance patch, and the game simply needs more content. In other words, its a fresh early access game. As it stands, I cannot recommend the game except to people who are desperate for more games like LoR or those who want to try an interesting combat system and have some pocket money to burn. I would however suggest that anyone interested in deckbuilders to wishlist the game and come back in a year or so. Given more time to create and polish the game, flower baasket could make something quite nice out of this. For the dev who will probably read this, I wish you the best of luck. I probably won't play this again for quite a while but I hope that you can make this game something special. The LoR combat system is a great addition to the deckbuilder genre and I hope that you can run with the idea. TL;DR: a cheap 7/10 with potential. Check back in a year or two.
ok so this is the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ coolest ♥♥♥♥ ever like hooooooooly ♥♥♥♥ only real complaint i can give is that the font is messed up sometimes so it can be hard/impossible at times to actually Read the Card EffectsTM but thats it
A deckbuilding roguelike with an interesting combat system very obviously inspired by Library of Ruina, but with enough of its own spin on things to remain distinct. A bit light on content at time of writing, but what is there is cool and interesting, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops.
