Fun game, world is waaay more polished than the first game, and the crafting system has been easy to use albeit a tad grindy. The later area of the game is maaaaasive and really cool to explore. Weather is a cool addition, but it doesn't really show up all that often, and sadly later you barely see it. The ranching of the slimes themselves is basically the same as the first game, and I was hoping for a little more variety or depth for it. I still don't care for the story, though it is a little better than the last one toward the end.

Personally, I like Slime Rancher 2 more than the first game. However.... you don't need to have played the first one to enjoy this! Basically, you breed and raise slimes, and there's also exploration and unlockable upgrades. You can also customize the observatory too. It does get a little repetitive, but for me, that's fine, since I'm neurodivergent, haha. It's a very family-friendly game. No bad language, gore, or anything considered inappropriate for children. Not a difficult game. Slimes are super cute and it's fun to discover new ones. There are so many breeding options to make hybrid slimes. Graphics are beautiful. Runs very well on Steam Deck! Definitely one of my top favorite comfort games. I love playing this whenever I am anxious. It's a very good time-waster. I recommend picking this one up if you enjoy virtual pet type games or if you enjoy cozy games.

I absolutely love this game. I played the first one in 2019, and now playing this one I fell back in love! It's so calming, and I love the vibrant colors. Honestly I feel so happy playing this cute slime game. I highly recommend playing! You can't deny cute slime and colorful open world exploring! Thank you Slime Rancher 2 for being my favorite game. We love you Monomi Park!
