Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition

I can describe this game in just one word: a masterpiece. An incredibly exciting game that keeps your attention. An exciting setting and environment that is set in China, the city of Hong Kong. You play as the main character Wei Chen who works for a secret intelligence service, and at the same time joins a criminal gang in order to uncover their plans. As the game progresses, you find the main villains and destroy them one by one. I like this game because it offers an incredible and exciting combat system where various traditional martial arts are involved. Starting from Wing Chun, Tai Chi, Kung Fu, all the way to boxing, wrestling and kickboxing. In my opinion, the game offers a better combat system than the Yakuza game. I also like that it is an open world game, where you can do whatever you want, like games similar to this genre: GTA, Red Dead Redemption, Saints Row, and many others. It is a very exciting game that constantly provides the player with attention and can hardly get bored. Parkour, short cutscenes, slow-motion combat effects, shooting, side and main missions, simply perfect. There is only one flaw that I noticed from the developers of this game, and that is the camera inverter for vehicles. For example, if you are driving a vehicle and want to go in reverse, the camera automatically changes direction and switches yours to the opposite side, which can be a little irritating. The solution to this is to click the reverse button (for me it is on v) and slowly go back and turn in the direction that suits you. All in all, the game is pure perfection.

This is an underrated open-world gem with fantastic hand-to-hand combat, an engaging undercover cop story, and a beautifully realized Hong Kong. The driving, atmosphere, and brutal melee system make it stand out from other crime games. It may be a bit older now, but it's still an easy recommendation for anyone who loves story-driven hong kong style action games.

[h1] Best example of a sleeper hit, albeit I have complaints for this game [/h1] Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition is basically a hybrid of Yakuza and GTA. The entire game revolves around an undercover cop trying to cripple a prominent triad gang. That's pretty much it. The game is pretty much something of its time, although it's not considered dated in today's standards. However, the game is deemed "unplayable" and "the definition of torment" if you don't download patches and fixes from an external site. If you're not a fan of downloading stuff outside of Steam just to fix and optimize the game, then don't get it. Thank god the definitive edition exists, because oh the DLCs are so horrible. [h2] What's wrong with the DLCs though? [/h2] Nightmare at North Point - Weakest of the DLCs. Uninteresting story, can be sped through in 30 minutes or so without doing any side quests. Zodiac Tournament - Very short DLC. The point of the DLC is to advertise more about martial arts in various regions. The story itself is very predictable, and can be sped through in 20 minutes without doing side quests. Year of The Dragon - Strongest of the DLCs. Decent story, but still pretty short. Speedrun-able in 30 minutes or so. Overall good game. If you can't decide whether to get a Yakuza game or a GTA game first, you can consider this game.

J’ai vraiment adoré Sleeping Dogs. Le scénario principal est une vraie claque : incarner un flic infiltré dans les triades, c’était exactement le type d’histoire que je cherchais. C’est assez classique dans le fond, mais tellement bien rythmé et prenant qu’on ne voit pas les heures passer. Je me suis vraiment attaché à Wei Shen et à tout ce qui se passe autour de lui. Le DLC Nightmare in North Point est sympa à faire, mais il ne m’a pas marqué plus que ça. Il est assez court, les combats deviennent vite répétitifs, et les ennemis manquent clairement d’intérêt. J’ai eu l’impression que tout allait un peu trop vite. L’Année du Serpent est un peu meilleure. L’histoire est plus intéressante et il y a quelques bonnes idées, mais ça reste quand même répétitif par moments, et je ne dirais pas que ce DLC m’a laissé un souvenir mémorable. Malgré ça, je recommande Sleeping Dogs les yeux fermés pour sa campagne principale. Pour moi, c’est clairement un jeu culte : une histoire captivante, des personnages marquants et une ambiance Hong Kong incroyable.

I really liked this game.For 2014 year this game is amazing. Also i did finish lots of side missions in this game which i don't normally do that.IIt is like a GTA Hong Kong. But also Melee fight is very good. I recommend this game to play. 7/10
