Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 18.67/day in the week to Aug 4 → 29.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

peak game. imo it shines best with its entertaining story and phenomenal hand to hand combat. this game is definitely clunky at times and has cons, but there is basically no reason to not at least give it a try. and no, is not a GTA clone. it has it similarities but is a unique game on its own. also don't forget; a man who never eat pork bun is never a whole man!
Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition Review
Before talking about the game itself, I have a bit of history with it. Back in 2020, I first tried playing Sleeping Dogs on an ancient laptop with an Intel Celeron single-core CPU, integrated graphics, and only 4GB of RAM. Somehow, the game actually ran on Low/Medium settings, and I managed to reach around 15% completion in a single day. Unfortunately, the next day I launched the game only to discover that my save file had disappeared. It honestly felt like playing on a PlayStation 2 without a memory card. After that, every time I thought about coming back to the game, something happened that made me quit again. Everything changed on July 12th. A friend convinced me to give the game another chance... Today, I finally finished it. And I'm really glad I did.

🌆 World
Hong Kong is easily one of the strongest parts of the game. Even though Sleeping Dogs is over a decade old, the city still feels alive. The crowded streets, the neon lights, the night markets, and the atmosphere all give the world its own unique identity. The night markets especially reminded me, in some ways, of the local markets in my home country, Iraq. Obviously they're completely different cultures, but there's a similar feeling of crowded streets and everyday life that made the world feel surprisingly familiar. There were many moments where I didn't even want to continue the story because I simply enjoyed driving around and exploring the city. Yes, the side activities become repetitive after a while, but they're still enjoyable enough to keep you busy between story missions.

👥 Characters
Visually, the characters definitely show the game's age. However, their writing is surprisingly strong. Every major character has a purpose, believable motivations, and interesting relationships with both the Triads and the police. That made it easy to become invested in the story.

📖 Story
The story follows undercover police officer Wei Shen. (I finally understand how my friends feel when they try to pronounce Arabic names. 😂) Wei lives between two worlds: the police force and the Triads. As the story progresses, you watch him slowly change. The line between duty and loyalty becomes increasingly blurred, and the emotional conflict is one of the game's biggest strengths. Several moments genuinely surprised me, and some scenes were much more emotional than I expected.

🥋 Combat
The hand-to-hand combat is absolutely fantastic. It's fast, satisfying, and clearly inspired by classic Hong Kong martial arts movies. Counter-attacks, environmental finishers, and brutal takedowns never stopped being fun, even after many hours of gameplay. This is easily one of the best melee combat systems I've experienced in an open-world game.

🎵 Soundtrack & Atmosphere
The soundtrack deserves some appreciation as well. Whether you're driving through the city or fighting your way through enemies, the music fits the atmosphere perfectly. Combined with the city's excellent sound design, it helps make Hong Kong feel alive from beginning to end.

❌ Negatives
The biggest disappointment for me was the gunplay. Sometimes my crosshair was directly on an enemy, yet my shots still missed. I'm not sure if this was intentional or simply a limitation of the game's mechanics, but it often felt inconsistent. On the positive side, I liked that firearms aren't something you permanently carry around. They feel powerful because they're temporary. Melee weapons were also enjoyable, and I especially liked that they eventually break after repeated use, making combat feel more dynamic.

🏁 Final Thoughts
Sleeping Dogs may be an older game, but it has aged far better than I expected. A beautiful open world, memorable characters, a surprisingly emotional story, and one of the best melee combat systems in the genre easily outweigh its flaws. I genuinely hope one day we get either a proper sequel or a modern remake, because this franchise deserves another chance.
⭐ Final Score: 8 / 10
Despite its aging gunplay and repetitive side activities, Sleeping Dogs remains one of the most enjoyable open-world action games I've played. If you've never experienced it before, I highly recommend giving it a chance. 13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 12: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

pretty good. the melee combat was fun and the story was decent. i enjoyed my time with it. the gunplay was ehh. and it was a bit janky at times but tbh that kinda added to the charm
can throw women of bridges 10/10 would recomend
GOOD GAME , SUCH AN UNDERRATED PIECE
Eat your pork bun
8.5/10 game. The main story is not so long. I like the combat system very much. I think it s one of the best out there for a game like this. There are some things I don t like. Lazy story - Npcs gives you quests just to do some parkour, but without a valid reason. Per total- I am sad I finish the game so early.
