About
You're on a path in the woods, and at the end of that path is a cabin. And in the basement of that cabin is a Princess.
You're here to slay her. If you don't, it will be the end of the world.
She will do everything in her power to stop you. She'll charm, and she'll lie, and she'll promise you the world, and if you let her, she'll kill you a dozen times over. You can't let that happen. Don't forget, the fate of the world rests on your shoulders.
You're not going to listen to him, are you? We're supposed to save princesses, not slay them...
Features
Fully voice-acted by the impeccable Jonathan Sims and Nichole Goodnight.
Hand-penciled art - every background and sprite is drawn traditionally with pencil and paper by Ignatz-winning graphic novelist Abby Howard.
A princess. She's very bad and you have to get rid of her for all our sakes.
No, the Princess isn't a “cosmic horror,” whatever that is supposed to mean. She's just an ordinary human Princess, and you can definitely slay her as long as you put your mind to it.
Don't even think about trying to romance her. It won't end well for you.
Hopefully you won't die. But if you do, you'll die a lot. Be careful and stay focused on the task at hand!
A branching narrative where what you say and what you believe determines both who you are and how the story unfolds. Though I wouldn’t recommend taking any paths outside of the one I lay before you.
A new roleplaying experience from the creators of Scarlet Hollow.
Slay the Princess is a choice-driven psychological horror visual novel/dating sim with dramatic branching, light RPG elements, and hand-penciled art.

i don't get how this game has so many positive reviews. maybe it's just not my cup of tea. it's the same short story that you can complete in less than half an hour and then you have to repeat it over and over and over. every time you make different choices and get a different ending. and that's it. in less than two hours i got three or four endings (and their achievements). now i'm supposed to play it another hundred times to get all the remaining ones. well, maybe i won't (i'm not even sure how i'm supposed to remember all the ones i've already done).
This was a gloomy, yet funny and entertaining little trick. Slay the Princess is a choose-your-adventure-style game, and a very well written, and well dubbed one. This game is all about going on loops and unlocking new content and endings, though after the third full loop it felt a bit too repetitive to me, ths first few the decisions feel really impactful, specially since you don't know what's going on...main problem is that as mystery is unraveled, beginning new loops to unlock new content feels a little meaningless. Regardless of that, I had quite some fun for a couple of days and for the sale price, I would recommend
Unironically the best love story I've ever experienced, if you don't go in completely blind you will do yourself a massive disservice, just trust your gut, there are no wrong decisions only the choices you've made and those you haven't yet
It's a meta story about stories in general and it's just not very interesting. Yes there are tons of branching paths and lots of work put in, but it all ends in "well this is a game and none of this makes sense and the real ending is walking way from it." As in; Stanley Parable but without the funniness.
Great start: in a very short time, it creates a situation where the player no longer knows what to do, who to trust, or why. The game offers an endless amount of interactions and different scenarios, often impossible to replicate. The unfolding mystery is intriguing and sufficiently well-developed. The art style is okay, even if a bit generic and humble. The voice acting is very good, but a larger cast to better differentiate various voices would have been great. The ending is perhaps too convoluted and not entirely clear, yet it remains narratively and emotionally satisfying enough, with several ways to complete it. Replayability is also good, as you can easily load your saves and try different endings.
This game thinks it's profound and very smart, but it's just pretentious. Every time you start a new act, a new voice appears. A voice, that is supposed to be yours as a player. It predicts your personality and stream of thoughts, except it doesn't. It makes fun of you for playing the game the way it was intended. This is not my thoughts and personality, and i don't see a reason why would that be the case. I don't even see a reason for this feature to be in the game. The game has no actual endings. Every "ending" leads to one place, because turns out every playthrough you had is a part of a bigger story. This could be interesting, except that's not what i came for. The game is literally called "Slay the Princess", and turns out the story is not about slaying and not about the princess. Then what's the point? To waste my time? Well, you did it. You wasted just enough of my time so i couldn't refund the game.
this game blows. for a game about choices you have nearly no choices and the game takes agency out of the players hands and just forces things to happen
