SLAMMED!

As a wrestling fan and a text-based game fan, this is a really enjoyable game. It's short, but it makes it easy to try out all the paths and options. I enjoy it but don't expect to spend as much time on it like a Night Road.

This was pretty cool. I know nothing about wrestling, yet this was entertaining and I wanted to see what would happen. I got so angry a couple times, not having a clue about how much of a show everything is so people screwed my char over - though things resolved well so I didn't feel bad for too long. I did spend half the time googling wrestling moves and frankly I had no clue even after seeing the moves on what stat they were focusing on. I focused on strength because it seemed the easier one to spot but I screwed up big time on a couple fights. So if you're clueless about wrestling, it's still an entertaining game, exciting even, but be prepared to feel like you're tossing a coin for some of the choices. It has romances and I did two of them: 1. with a singer and this romance well developed and I absolutely loved the character 2. with my char's old friend turned rival (the main conflict of the game). This one I feel should've been developed a little more; it's a crush because you decide it at the start, but during the game there aren't hints about your rival having romantic feelings toward you. There's only one reaction I got that might hint he feels the same, otherwise it's you being nice - at the end you decide whether you'd like friendship or romance (or nothing), a bit too short of a closure for how big the conflict was and how much of a jerk he was to you. There's at least one more person you can romance, but my char was gay so I didn't try it out. Also a triangle with the same person and the singer. I think the singer's gender is according to your preferences, but I'm not entirely sure, since I haven't played female yet. Also the rival seems to have your gender. There's loads of achis but to get them all you have to play multiple times and as both sexes. For some you have to lose fights and for some you have to be a real a-hole - I think I'm fine not doing them all, I'm not the villain type. All in all, it was fun and it even felt I was there at times, I was gesticulating and raising my hands like my character did. Don't know how to explain it better than: fun and exciting.

First play through was amazing! I can't believe that I was on the edge of my seat from reading text!?!? Even if you are not a big fan of pro wrestling, you will love this adventure!

I stated I recommend this game but it is definitely not for all and honestly for me personally it was a let down but it is a good game that is why I recommend it I have started to try and write more reviews over COG games as I play them Me playing this one was weird because I am not a wrestler or into wrestling and I know basically nothing about it. It was surprisingly enjoyable despite that so I can say even if you are like me the game can still be enjoyable however I am not sure whether or not having wrestling knowledge gives you a better chance in some of the fights The "gameplay" for lack of a better description is good, making your way through the political landscape of the profession and the action of the fights is good The story is interesting and very exciting at times but I can honestly say this choice game got me so invested into the story for my character but because of that it made me angry most of the game. For me my kind hearted character was getting constantly manipulated and screwed over and it made the game kind of unenjoyable because it was too stressful and constantly made me angry. The ending for me was incredibly lack luster, I can say there definitely are losing endings to this game because the ending of this game is all about your wrestling career and not about the relationships and friendships (from what i have seen) I believe no matter what the ending is probably pretty rushed and unfulfilling A driving point in the story is a [spoiler] past friendship turned [/spoiler] rivalry that was honestly really dumb. wasted my whole run through waiting for the chance to fix it all and it never came and the reason for the rivalry is so incredibly dumb Like many COG games their is romance that can play a role in the story and for me the RO i chose was very fun and I really loved the characters but it is not a focus of the game in any way and I only basically saw two options (could be more I dont really know) The game was fun and think that maybe if I do another run through it could be a lot better. The story is impactful and full of twists and turns good and bad (mostly bad). If you want a fun choice game about a wrestling career and being cutthroat buy the game. If you want a solid story about someone fixing their past dont get this game because from what I have seen that is not an option.

Really fun little game. Enjoyable and simple. Took me 7 hours to complete and I was hooked with the story throughout. Definitely recommend it to any wrestling fans out there in particular.

please help me i've failed [spoiler] the fight against Solitary twice now [/spoiler] and i'm not going to replay the game unless someone lists the winning options to me please help otherwise 10/10 enjoyable Edit: Over a year-and-a-half later. I beat the game the way I wanted to. I sometimes think about how I spent eighteen hours on this game in two days.

This is a love letter to any fan of wrestling. While fairly short, the length adds to to the replayability as you explore the game and attempt to recreate classic wrestling moments or forge your unique ones. Sadly, it feels like pretty much every measurement that isn't your skills in wrestling are underutilized and, at most, incidental to the story. While I wouldn't call it the best of the best as far as the Choose Your Own Adventure genre, it's great if you love pro wrestling or if you're wanting to learn about it.
