KaleidoGames nous avait gratifiés il y a quelques années d'un shoot them up, réminiscence d'un jeu paru sur Amiga, nommé Beekyr. Slam and Roll fait perdurer cette nostalgie d'une époque, avec bien entendu l'animation plus nerveuse, des effets d'écran crt (comme sur les images ci présentes), la jouabilité à deux, qui sont une plus value non négligeable. Pour les plus vieux d'entre nous, cela rappellera Bomb Jack (sans les bombes), Bubble Bobble et surtout ces séries de jeux en un écran (même si Slam 1 Roll peut nous gratifier parfois d'un scrolling vertical) que sont nightmare in the dark et Bang Bang Busters sur Neo Geo/Arcade et en arcade Snow Bros, Jumping Pop, Penguin Brothers, ou autres Rod Land, Don Doko Don etc, mais avec bien entendu tout le savoir faire accumulé par un joueur devenu programmeur.
Es un señor juego, con sus picos de dificultad para cogerlo con ganas y pasar un buen rato. En steam deck funciona estupendamente.

This game slams so hard that it gets me rolling! It's as if the developer had found a lost arcade game from 1990 and remastered it with infinite care. In fact, I wouldn't rule out the possibility that Slam & Roll comes from a timeline in which arcades have become world heritage sites.
조작 케릭터들이 구기종목 선수들이고 게임 구성에 약간의 차이점이 있지만, 스노우브라더스입니다. 플랫폼 내려가기가 강화아이템기능이라 평소엔 안 돼서 구석에 몰리면 위험하다거나, 플랫폼 모양이 교묘하게 탄도 꼬이도록 만들어져 있다거나, 적들이 순회하는 게 아닌 플레이어를 몰아넣으려는 움직임을 보이는 게, 1편의 느낌이 강하네요. 열 명이 넘는 케릭터들이 있고 각각 장단점이 있어 케릭터 바꿔가며 플레이하는 재미가 있었습니다. 투어모드와 아케이드모드를 지원하는데, 투어모드는 진행상황이 저장되기 때문에 틈틈이 즐기기에도 좋았구요. 아케이드모드는 오래전 오락실 생각이 나네요. 눈덩이를 과충전해서 폭탄으로 만들 수 있고, 굴릴 때 대각선 위로 날릴 수 있어서 각도만 맞다면 윗 플랫폼으로 눈덩이를 보낼 수도 있는 건 상당히 마음에 드는 기능이었습니다. 눈덩이가 구르는 시간도 스노우브라더스보다 더 긴 것 같네요. 덕분에 게임 진행이 조금 수월했던 듯합니다. 대신 등장하는 적들 수가 제법 많고 위아래로 치고 들어오는 경우가 잦아서, 그걸로 난이도를 맞춘 느낌이군요. 약간 그리운 게임을 다른 모습으로 만나게 해준 게임이었습니다. 재밌게 즐겼네요.
Gran homenaje a juegos clásicos pero con jugabilidad moderna. Muy largo y variado! Muy recomendado tanto para partidas cortas como para sesiones largas. Y tiene cooperativo!
¡Está muy divertido! es ligero de peso, se puede jugar en cooperativo y tiene muy buena música :) recomiendo darle una oportunidad! esta lindo me recordó al clásico Bubble Bubble de la Nes.
