This game is great and very fun to play. I had played the early release demo and the author did take some QOL suggestions and implement them into the final game so great developers as well. For the developers, is changing keybindings through settings a possibility. So far great game 10/10 will continue playing.
first pixelart game I ever played and so far I actually really like it. I enjoyed the first hour so looking forward to play with it more later. recommended.
Love the visuals and the story of the game. Definitely a favourite to play this autumn while cozying up at home.

Unique and suprisingly fun!
It sounds good, it looks good, it feels good but you don't really find yourself thinking about it outside of the time you're playing it. Coupled with the short completion time and what the gameplay loop turns into at the end, the best comparison I can make when trying to describe what Skies Above feels like is "a very good mobile game." That isn't an insult by any means, the game is just good for what it is and not really anything more. I would personally recommend getting it when it's on sale. FAT ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DISCLAIMER: There is a bugged achievement the devs have no intention of fixing, so if you're a completionist you *will* have to use a third party application to unlock it.
Short but fun and different game. However, the "WHOOSH!" achievement is broken and the dev doesn't seem to be interested or involved in reading bug reports. As always, when a game has broken achievements, I consider it an incomplete game and when it is reported and not addressed I consider it an abandoned game even if it was deemed to be feature complete from the developer's perspective. EDIT: It has been 6 months and still no acknowledgment from the developer.
Long ago, ancient flying Leviathans searching for a new home settled on our planet. Their presence filled the world with magic, but humans soon began to exploit them as a resource. Sadly, greed took over, and people started hunting Leviathans using specially designed flying robotic spheres. But where there is evil, there is also good : A secret group of rebels, united by their harmony with nature, have mastered the magic arts and now help the Leviathans escape into space. Skies Above is a colorful 2D action game with charming pixel art and fast‑paced gameplay. The game has a meta‑progression. After each run, you collect shards to upgrade your camp — unlocking rune enhancements, rune crafting, cosmetics, challenge missions with rewards, and even fishing, where different fish grant useful buffs to your Leviathan. Overall, it’s a highly replayable game with vibrant visuals, a relaxing atmosphere, and an excellent soundtrack that truly deserves more attention. Very fun. Pretty unstable, crashed a lot for me.
A beautifully drawn adventure that does a good job of scratching the rogue-lite itch. Definitely feels like a good amount of content on offer for the price and it kept giving me that "one more run" feeling that these types of games are famous for. There are a few minor things that I think could be improved:

I found that when there are lots of enemies/particles on screen it became quite easy to lose track of where the player character is - better readability for these busier combat scenarios would be great.
Taking control of an overloaded Buster often left the beam fixed in one direction, and I was unable to control it so just had to wait until the ability timed out. I didn't get this issue with the overloaded Bastion (which you also control), so feels like a bug rather than an input issue.
The aim-assist sometimes feels a little bit too strong. If there's an overloaded enemy near to you, the game really wants you to dash towards it and it's quite difficult to aim for anything else. More freedom on when to trigger those abilities would feel better and more strategic for me.
It's worth noting I was using a DualSense controller to play, and haven't verified if the control issues are unique to that or present for all methods, so your mileage may vary. That said, none of those small issues deterred me enough to make me stop playing, and I ended up going for 100% completion since I enjoyed the game loop so much, so I would definitely recommend giving Skies Above a go.
Pretty cool roguelike/incremetal game
