Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's a very neatly packaged small game. Secondary game play loop is a classic between action to chilling in base (fishing and dog petting included). Main loop is excellent high pace combat with good progression per run and a good feeling of empowerment when getting ever more powerful from base bought upgrades. All in all the execution is great, music, theeming, and banter all good.
A beautifully drawn adventure that does a good job of scratching the rogue-lite itch. Definitely feels like a good amount of content on offer for the price and it kept giving me that "one more run" feeling that these types of games are famous for. There are a few minor things that I think could be improved:

I found that when there are lots of enemies/particles on screen it became quite easy to lose track of where the player character is - better readability for these busier combat scenarios would be great.
Taking control of an overloaded Buster often left the beam fixed in one direction, and I was unable to control it so just had to wait until the ability timed out. I didn't get this issue with the overloaded Bastion (which you also control), so feels like a bug rather than an input issue.
The aim-assist sometimes feels a little bit too strong. If there's an overloaded enemy near to you, the game really wants you to dash towards it and it's quite difficult to aim for anything else. More freedom on when to trigger those abilities would feel better and more strategic for me.
It's worth noting I was using a DualSense controller to play, and haven't verified if the control issues are unique to that or present for all methods, so your mileage may vary. That said, none of those small issues deterred me enough to make me stop playing, and I ended up going for 100% completion since I enjoyed the game loop so much, so I would definitely recommend giving Skies Above a go.

Fun little game. I beat it in a little over 8 hours, and it was a ton of fun. If you're looking for a neat little game, then this is it.
I'm not really sure why this game flew under the radar so much. It is insanely fun! The art makes it feel chill, while the OST gets you hype af. The controls feel very tight. The game just feels overall very polished. My only gripe is that it's $12, and you can basically 100% it in five hours, which is not a lot of time at all, especially for a roguelite. Also, the content that the game does provide, isn't exactly complex or super in-depth. I think it should be around half the price that it is. Maybe get it on sale?
As one of the testers of the game I saw how the game developed over time and I can assure you after countless hours of testing there was always some charm about the fast-paced combat and there was some calming feeling when I beat a big wave while the Leviathan was on his last breath. I highly recommend the game for those who like flashy explosions, fast-paced combat, grinding (there is a little), achievement grinding, and replayability.
Skies Above has an absolutely lovely art style. The sprites, the movement, the music and effects - all mesh perfectly. It just looks, sounds, and feels good to play. The story and setting are interesting and fully reflected in the style. The actual gameplay takes a little getting used to but is pretty fun. If I had to gripe I'd say that it can be hard to keep track of your player in all the fast movement, and it sometimes feels like you're reacting rather than controlling. It's a roguelike so expect repetition and sometimes feeling like you're not making much progress. But at its core the game is just nice, well-made, well-presented, fun. Recommended!
Pretty cool roguelike/incremetal game
Feels a bit preachy.
