Sketchfab VR

This is certainly not what I expected, and from the discussions reflect the same. This product is nothing merely more than a showcase of SketchFab's 'Currated' list. Sure it's a good list, but I thought the point of a program like this was to let you browse other's work. This is not the case. Also when you look down at something to have a closer look, a UI Menu pops up and blocks vision, very poor foresight. At this point in time WebVR is the only way to view SketchFab and even then I couldn't get it to run on the previous version of Chromium, will try with the next build.

Pretty bad. Just a few curated things, it's not actually a viewer for sketchfab.

This game is broken on Oculus Rift, Since this software was made for HTC Vive I straight up cannot guarantee that this game will literally work on any Oculus PCVR headsets.

Practically no content. Just a "curated collection" of like 6 objects to look at. Thumbnails and video are misleading, makes it look like it actually has an interface to view the collection at Sketchfab.com. It does not. And you can't view the stuff at Sketchfab.com in VR with the site's buggy, screwed-up WebVR viewer - not only are there no browsers (except exotic nightly custom-compiled joke browsers) that can view WebVR, and even with Windows Mixed Reality, the viewer doesn't work in the built-in Edge browser that CAN do WebVR. So it's just a joke. A huge amount of content, though I can't understand why creators put their creations there... but no good way to view it in VR.

Nice demo of a few scenes from their vast library of objects and scenes. This app does not allow full access to all of it, just a small amount of things. Worth about 10 minutes for looking around then uninstalling. I hope they have plans for more.

[h1] Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers [/h1] [i] Note for Oculus users on Windows 10: for the Steam version of this app, you have to do a Windows 7 compatibility fix to get app to show correctly, otherwise, everything will be upside down [/i] This is not a bad app. In fact the Places tab shows off some really good environments in VR. The Minecraft location was also pretty neat. Some of the vehicles were not too shabby. Most of everything else was just okay. You do get to see Aphrodite's stone butt cheeks. Rate 5/10. They need to include more pieces other than this curated list. It's been over 2 years now. And they can't even get it to work right for Oculus users on Steam.

Sketchfab VR is a viewer for 3D models in VR. It worked on my HTC Vive, Meta Quest 3 via Steam Link, system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. There is not many model in this program, the rest are on their website sketchfab dot com. So this program is more an ad for the website. The website has 3d content for sale. You can look at models straight from the website to your HMD software. Try it, you might like it.
