Tea, charm, and an introspective look at what it means to be human. Sips & Sonnets beautifully captures the many facets of life we experience as we age, painting each with warmth and depth. Highly recommended.
This game has a carefully crafted story full of cozy vibes but also some concerns about growing old. The characters are delightful and the tea-making minigame is pretty easy but I learned a lot about tea! The conversations are fun but make sure you pay attention to what everyone is telling you! In the end, I fell in love with the characters and did shed a few tears. A bit of a warning, if you have a phobia of medical needles or memory degradation, you might not enjoy this game. The needle is not shown to administer the medicine but is there to be filled up.
A tender, heartfelt story. I've played through a few times just to get to enjoy the atmosphere and voice acting. A great gem of a game, huge kudos to the writer for such a lovely, melancholic experience.
If you enjoy a relaxing game focused on story telling and getting to know charakters this is definetly for you! I had fun following the story of Mrs. Meadows, brewing some tea, learning about said tree and getting to know the different personalitys walking into the tea shop. And you get to also work a little on a poem.
I've grown fond of this type of game as the perfect "before bed" type experience. Dozing off (in a good way, not because it's boring) while reading an interesting story with no puzzles that would require me to be too alert. Just small talk, brewing a hot drink, and seeing where that leads us...
I don’t want to say too much about why this game was meaningful for me to play, as it risks heavy spoilers. But I highly encourage anyone who enjoys slice-of-life visual novels to experience this story. Excited to complete more playthroughs to unlock all the Author’s notes.
I enjoyed discovering what the game is about as the story revealed itself
lovely from start to finish. a game told from the pov of an elderly woman + tea + poetry = my ultimate weakness. the voice acting was phenomenal, and i enjoyed pacing myself with this one with a cup of tea at my side. slow and meaningful and gently heartbreaking. i did take a large break between sessions due to health reasons, which did affect some of my choices (not to mention, after reaching the ending once, i learned it's not the ideal way to play this game), but it was still an easy game to get back into. 8/10
I really enjoyed the game and learned so much about TEA! ( and about myself.. I think)! However, I wasn't prepared for the ending. Playing it again as I write this review to see what the other endings are. :)
The teashop interactions and tea brewing is cozy and chill. More storytelling than tea-brewing but I enjoyed it nevertheless. The framed wall of photos was fun to view and the voices enjoyable. Unexpectedly, there was a mystery that had an eerie/creepy vibe and a lot of lore behind the bright facade of a cozy teashop! Each ending provided a new story and insight into the lady's life.
