despite being tea propaganda, loved how cozy and introspective it was.

[h2] Ellietendo's Review Of Sips and Sonnets [/h2] [u] I received a free copy of this game for review purposes. I used a mouse for gameplay. [/u] [h3] Pros: [/h3] [list] [*] Strong Storytelling - As this game is a visual novel, I would expect extremely strong storytelling. "Sips and Sonnets" excels in this regard; the story steadily progresses with each chapter. The in-depth storyline pulls on your heartstrings and makes you want to invest in the full game. [*] Easy/Accessible Controls - This game does not have that many controls. All you need to do is press the spacebar; you are pretty much sorted at that point. This is probably one of the most accessible games that I have ever played. Just one button, and you can just relax and watch/listen to the visual novel. [*] Cozy Atmosphere - Being able to just listen to the passing customers’ stories is a real treat. The fact that you can do this and also have 2 mini-games (brewing tea and crafting poems) makes this the perfect game for a rainy/cozy day where you want to bundle up warm and have a hot drink! [/list] [h3] Cons: [/h3] [list] [*] Awkward Mouth Movements - Something that I did notice is that the mouth animations are very basic. The words that are said and the lip movement do not match. It can be a bit jarring at times, hearing the words but seeing the mouth do something completely different. [*] Grammatical Errors? - A lot of people may not have picked up on this, as this is a very subtle thing. Unfortunately for “Sips and Sonnets”, I am British, so I saw it. They impressively were able to have most of the text be in “British English” and not the standard “American English” that most Brits are used to seeing. There were a few occasions where the “American English” did creep in (probably an oversight by the game devs), and it made it for a brief moment less immersive. I’m sure it’s an easy fix so don’t judge me too hard please! [/list] [h3] Overall: [/h3] Overall, “Sips and Sonnets” is one of the few visual novels that I would love to finish from start to end! With the super easy controls, meaning you can have this in the background whilst also doing other tasks, it’s perfect for “Cozy” moments. Getting lost in the story and/or the music is a pure joy and one that I wish more people would experience. I would strongly recommend this game to people, even to those like me who may not normally go for “Visual Novel” types of games. It’s a nice change of pace! P.S. I am also heavily biased on the British theme (tea shop in the British countryside), it’s rare to find games set in the UK and that in itself is a nice bonus.

I was NOT ready for the ending. All of them by the way.. This game really left a big impact on me... in a good way of course with a little sprinkle of trauma.. The art and writing are amazing, I am excited for your next game

A lovely cozy game! The graphics style, music and vibe were right up my alley. I'm an herbalist so as soon as I saw a game that dealt with tea I knew I had to play it! While it is a short game (It took me about 2 1/2 hrs), there are multiple endings so you can play it multiple times. One of my questions went unanswered so I know I'll be playing it again for a different ending! I appreciated the thoughtfulness that went into this game, especially some wonderful lines that I've written down to remember. "Whenever I could find tea, I always found generosity and kindness, as well." Make sure you have a cuppa when you start to play or you'll quickly find yourself pausing to make a cup.

The game play mechanics are simple, but it shines more in it's character storytelling and voice acting. I'd say it's a recommended game for those who enjoy the specific art genre of English slice of life drama films and those who are curious and like to learn something new.

calm quite game about life struggles and how to manage it the music reminds me of the sims 2 cheerful and happy since I know the creator Quillcannon and consider him a friend , I saw some reflection of him in Dialogue I would love to see him write more the poets are really fun to read despite my ok English I enjoyed it thnx Quillcannon : )

[spoiler]記憶力を試される[/spoiler]場面が多いので英語を読み慣れていないとそこがすこし難しい。 一部の文章を除いて、ほとんどの会話やナレーションには英語のボイス付き。凄くありがたい！ 全体的にゆったりした雰囲気で進み、癒されます。自分も紅茶を飲みながらプレイしたくなる！ そして…最初は穏やかな作品だなあとしか思っていなかったけれど、少しずつ、この作品のテーマに気づきはじめて、それが確信に変わったとき、心が動かされていく感覚がありました。 プレイして良かったと思える、素敵ないい作品でした…！
