Women want fish, fear me
This game is quite cute and fun (even though I suck at it). Don't ask how long it took me to catch the catfish...
Played on the steam deck, had a fin-tastic fun time! I am relatively early into the game, having not beaten the first boss, but the vibes of the game are immaculate. Coming from someone who is not that experienced at rhythm games, I initially found the multi-tasking fishing mini-game difficult, but very satisfying once you get into the groove. Some minor feedback, I would recommend perhaps redoing some of the dialogue / text, as it isn't quite always correct, changing the sound of the text as it is slightly grating, and perhaps providing the ability to change some of the controller button prompt icons (they are playstation), but all of that is very minor, and does not hinder one's experience in any reel manner.

PLENTY of Fiddler crabs in this one, ITS PEAK
This is one of the best games I've ever played on Steam and I'm not exaggerating even a little bit. Amongst a sea of hyper-realistic Triple-A games all blending together and low-effort indie games no longer taking new risks outside of incremental mechanics or proximity chat, Sinker sound is something so new and so fresh that I never once stopped feeling surprised and mesmerized in the entirety of my time playing the game. At first I thought "wow, I've seen a lot of low-poly indie games as of late, but this is the first to really nail a Dreamcast-esque vibe in not only its modelling, but also its texturing, lighting, and level geometry," and I booted it up hoping for maybe an above-average rhythm game experience. What I got was a game that clearly has a ton of different inspirations, but manages to take all of the ideas it has and craft something that literally exists nowhere else. The basic gameplay loop is look around for new fish, cast bait, and hold left-click rhythmically to reel while simultaneously moving your mouse to prevent obstacles from interrupting said reeling. But the synergy all of these mechanics have? How good it all feels when you finally get the hang of it? The way certain charts force you to mix up your reeling levels to fit the beat better? The sound design of your reeling matching the songs' chord-tones? It's actually incredible. I had read reviews that gave me the impression that the game might be pretty difficult, like high-tier-sweaty-rhythm-gamer levels, and as I was slowly being introduced to the game's fundamentals I had already made up my mind that I would just play for fun and for progression--NOT for 100%. It was probably too tough for me. 7 hours later, I got all achievements and cosmetics as of writing and desperately want another update. I do admittedly have some prior rhythm game experience, so I can't say for certain whether *anyone* can just pick up this game and with enough time get a handle, but Sinker sound truly feels to me like a Celeste or a Souls-like kind of difficulty. By that I mean, it IS very hard and WILL push you, but in a way that actively encourages you to keep grinding rather than pushing you away due to feeling cheap, unfair, or overly convoluted. And while this game IS convoluted, it's the perfect amount of convolution to keep things exciting and blood-pumping, rather than just being obtuse for the sake of being obtuse. Tons of things will be happening at the same time, but as you play more and more, you'll start to get into a flow state during which you'll know exactly what to expect and how to deal with it. And before I knew it, when going back for S ranks on earlier fish, the first charts that gave me the feeling that this game would be too out of my league, were now totally doable with no misses. All in all, I'm so beyond impressed with this game. Its premise, its visuals, its music, and of course its gameplay were all unbelievable, and no matter how badly I want to play and explore even more new stuff, I'm content with giving the dev as much time as needed between updates. Even if this game ends up in the pits of Early Access Hell for the foreseeable future, the time I already managed to squeeze out of this current build made for a more than satisfying enough experience, and the replayability is already there.
super fun (and difficult, but i'm not complaining) rhythm game, i GREATLY recommend this game if you like multi-tasking and adjusting to new mechanics i was expecting this early access release to be very short, and admittedly you could probably complete it very quickly, but i was surprised with how much there is to catch so far and the unlockable cosmetics really make me wanna play more. i'm really looking forward to more :D
i'm completely in love with this game already. fishing rhythm gaming is real.

Fish + rhythm game; I honestly shouldn't be surprised on how much fun this game was to play. Im really not a fan of early access games so i kinda go in not expecting much but this one was really enjoyable but also very hard.. (at least it was for me, could be cause this is like my first REAL rhythm game lol, (took me like
4
hours to get past the first area..)) it also has workshop support which is insanely cool, excited to see what happens to this game in the future was 100% worth checking out If your looking for a rhythm game this ones good + there's fish :)
An incredibly unique rythm game. Its still rought around the edges, basically going around the map because theres not much besides fishing and sitting on benches. On the other hand the core gameplay, the actual fishing, is really damn solid and can be played with just your mouse and nothing else. That being said you should always do the tutorial first because it is very easy to confuse the mechanics, specially if you compare it to other more traditional rythm games. Something to note: its is a VERY challenging game. It has actual bossfights that had me on the edge of my seat. Overall this is a very promising game and I cant wait for the finished product. Specially recomended if you are looking for a high adrenaline rythm game.
