Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my gameplay & early impressions here: https://youtu.be/4HS0NZwVOKo This is a budget-priced rogue-lite mech bullet hell wave shooter mixed with a little bit of an endless runner. Given the budget price, this is an easy recommend for me. I wasn't expecting much, but I genuinely had fun. The game has an interesting gameplay loop. It plays like a lot of the recent Vampire Survivor Clones, but for VR. You're in first person and you're operating a giant mech as you aim, shoot, and evade. The controls are pretty simple joystick controls (no throttle), with left trigger for missile lock and right trigger for the cannon fire. You can also press both grips to launch a massive special attack. After a while, you get bonus upgrades which you can use to improve your weapons, get some health back, or improve shields or exp, etc. There's obviously some RNG involved with the upgrades you get and some quick thinking with trying to get synergies from your chosen path. There's also bonuses you can pick up along the way. Lastly, there are permanent upgrades you can make to your mech as well so that the next run is just a bit easier. My biggest criticism is that the scales seem to be a bit off. The mech is just maybe a bit too big and while I understand it should feel big, it does also end up making movement feel slow & combat maybe not feel as crisp as it should. I had a difficult time judging if I was going to get hit or not. There is a nice variety of enemies and dangers to be aware of (many different bullet patterns to evade, while also having to keep an eye on the terrain to avoid running into obstacles). Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting a steady 72 fps. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs, but I did notice some misspellings. I would like to see some graphical options as well. It would be cool to have different mechs to purchase as well. Isn’t a blockbuster, but it’s worth the dive. At first, I thought it might get boring due to its simplicity, but weaving through bullet storms turned out to be more thrilling than expected. It's quite funny. A slight drawback is the game feels more like a shooter than a true mech experience. The mechs are there, mainly during upgrades and game setup, but I wish they were more integrated into the core gameplay. Overall, it's a fun ride, especially for its price. Would recommend if you’re into dodging more than just bullets.
While the game art doesn't match the game itself, the game itself is actually fun. I've spent my nights playing this game, and as of now, I'm 7 hours into it, and I love it. However, for the developers, if they are reading this, could you provide a gamma option or just brighten the game? It's a little dark from the start. I'd like to see more LED lights, turning it into a light show. Also, changing the enemy spawns; they always spawn in the same location. Could you also give us more options on the color or design of the cockpit? Adding an option for music and sound from the enemies would be great too. Finally, could you add new enemy types like the ones on the front cover? Games like this could do a lot more in the VR market. As of now, the game is pretty entertaining, but I'd like to see greater features in the next update... Player2 can you work with index controls i cant use the nuke
Overall, it's quite fun but the content is somewhat limited and the enemies are a bit dull.
Die!Die!Die! DA~DA~DA~DA~DA~DA~DA!
