Silence of the Sleep

A seriously flawed exploration game that has a lot of good ideas and some really interesting coding but is marred by terrible visual cues, awful survival horror elements and a story that explains way too much and ultimately just becomes incomprehensible. It's an impressive creation for a game made by one person, and there are some cool puzzles and sequences. It's also got a unique middle section where you are wandering around a mental ward. This is something I've not seen in a game, so it felt refreshing and unique. Sadly, the visuals, while creative, don't highlight key objects or items, and many are barely visible, to the point that the game almost becomes unplayable without a guide. There was also a point early on where a code would not appear for seemingly no reason, and while I didn't consult a guide, it was super frustrating. The sound design and ambiance of the game is amazing, but the dialogue boxes just go on and on without ever really explaining much except for a terrible exposition dump in the last five minutes that just makes the story ridiculous. It would have been way better just to leave the story ambiguous and the protagonist a tragic Max Payne type figure. Lastly, there are two parts of the game where you have stealth mechanics and these are by far the most atrocious parts of the game because it's ridiculously hard to see anything in the dark and the objects are just painted into the background. Some, like a key on a chair, don't even seem visible at all, and I stumbled across them by random chance. It's truly terrible but if you can get past that the puzzle element is actually very creative and satisfying. Sadly, the infuriating elements cast a shadow on the rest of the experience so while I can't say it's a great game I would say it's a good effort but needs a lot of improvement.

got this game with not much expectations but it turned out rlly good.

Todavía no lo termine pero el estilo visual es un placer visual, sí lo jugas de noche con todo oscuro te vas a cagar todo porque es un ambiente tenso, oscuro y que no sabes lo que puede venir

Eine fantastische Story. Sehr zu empfehlen. Ebenfalls spitze ist die Musik die als Soundtrack im Speicherordner mit dabei ist.
