Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/ap1kWKqsAdk Siienaa is a mostly cinematic experience with almost no interactions. In most scenes, you could just confuse it for a VR rollercoaster ride, except you're just floating in the air, going from point A to point B. All you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the visuals. There are two scenes where you can teleport around. In those scenes, you just explore the area until you find an orb to take you to another location. There are 6 different mini-experiences. It took me approximately 30 minutes to enjoy all the content. There's only the desert environment with a few variations, along with some character models. The animations are very basic or nonexistent. The sounds are generic & poor, you hear them coming from a certain area but there is nothing there and they just don't fit the creatures around. The desert environment is nice & there are some variations that change up the experience, but it's not as varied as it should be given this price-range. The character models also seem to be original, but again, there's not enough variety. The poor animations also make them not as interesting to look at as they should be. Experience is running on the Unreal Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting a steady 90 frames per second. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs. I believe there's only two scenes where you have teleportation available, but no smooth or snap turning. The rest of the scenes are on-rails where you're just floating in the air for who knows what reason. It would have been nicer to mount one of the flying creatures. There are no meaningful VR interactions, other than touching the orb to select the different scenes. At the end of the day, this experience is over-priced for what it is. It's obvious this developer has some talent. This is a nice looking, sci-fi, surreal desert environments and the creatures look interesting. However, the poor animations, poor sounds, & poor VR interactions & lack of variety do bring the experience down. Some may enjoy this experience more than me, but I was pretty bored. Viewed with the Oculus Quest 2, Fantastic, Beautiful worlds with amazing creatures. There is a lot to explore here with orbs to transport you to other areas of this world. This is a very relaxing journey. I love everything about this adventure. Thank you
'Siienaa' is a collection of 6 (7 if you include the hub world) non-interactive world tours with a distinct Dune theme to them. You just move along ever so slowly and there is nothing to touch, shoot or do. The only real interaction is that you can teleport about in the first world hub and touch your chosen world orb, but other than that there is nothing else to do. You just sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds. While I thought the visuals were very nice the lack of sounds was a little disappointing. For just £5.99 this app takes you away for a little while (about 40 mins tops) with some beautiful sci-fi worlds. But the lack of any form of interaction will be off-putting for some. Do check out 3 of the 6 worlds in my gameplay video - https://youtu.be/HM48aFpCnlw
Basically a tech demo with close to no content - that is no story or narrative, no great sound, just more or less an assets show. And no, this is not art. It's repetitive and boring - a waste of time and drive space. In some locations you just float and look around - in other locations you can teleport by pressing down the thumbsticks. The devs seem clueless about providing proper VR locomotion - you should never have to click down on the Index controller's thumbstick to move - this may cause the thumbstick to drift - instead just use the thumbstick without pressing it down. And provide some full locomotion, we're not in the beginning of the year 2016 anymore. Textures, dynamic shadows and polygon levels are fine, this is PCVR, not some bottom-end Quest app. You can see some giant creatures, but the big creatures on legs don't walk around, again this feels like a show of assets. This app should not cost anything, there really is no value to gain from this app. Get some real VR movies instead - like The Bond or Gloomey Eyes - both are like 100 times better than this app.
Silenaa is a paid VR experience where you are exploring a planet. Worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. VR movement mode is Teleport. There are five places to explore. Looks nice. Maybe buy this only on Sale. I got a free key for this from the Steam Curator program.
Got the price I bought it - it's a great relaxing journey. If you just relax, not play something, it could be great choice. I bought it when I had Windows Mixed Reality, and it's unsupported. In Pico 3 working fine.
Beautiful content; wish there was more. Please develop more content.
it's a great environment. still looks great on my low end system
