Я предполагал, что останусь холоден, но проект запал в душу с первой же минуты. Это настолько искреннее и мастерское погружение в атмосферу старых RPG, что это просто нельзя не признать лучшим.
AT A GLANCE: 2/5 Stars - The game started off pretty decent, but as time went on it just got harder, and harder to tolerate. I really wanted to enjoy this game, but unfortunately there is so much that is wrong with this game that I can't. Play at your own risk. GAME GENRE: Single Player, Top-Down, RPG, GAME DESCRIPTION: Release Date: Oct. 2016 - You are Jun, a samurai, who needs to complete tasks for multiple people. Learn more about your characters past as the game progresses. As you travel you meet new characters that will help you fight to complete your quests. KID FRIENDLY: (First know that I am very strict on kid approved material. A game with a standard rating of "PG" I might rate "PG-13". These are my ratings and have nothing to do with standard ratings) I rate this "PG-13". Some of the language is a little harsh for younger kids. ACHIEVEMENTS: 0 Achievements TRADING CARDS: 5 Trading cards PROS: -RPG -Samurai & Ninjas CONS: -Story just drags on -Lacks fun factor -Fight scenes become annoying after awhile GAMEPLAY: Gameplay is a little stiff, but nothing that would ruin the game like other things. VISUAL EFFECTS: Decent graphics, old retro style. AUDIO: Music is decent, and sound effects are good. STORYLINE: Storyline has its moments where it gets interesting, but unfortunately there is so much unecessary rable included that it makes it hard to enjoy. REPLAY VALUE: No replay value at all for me. PROBLEMS/ISSUES: None - No problems installing the game. No issues during start up. No game freezes, or unexpected quitting. WORDS FOR DEVELOPERS: The game could have been much better if some of the characters quit rambling. Also, being chased by the fight scenes became annoying when trying to avoid them. Alright, alright! As someone who really enjoyed watching anime (*cough* *cough* Gintama) that included samurais... I surely had an interest in this game. Mainly because it was an RPG game. Characters: beautifully designed. Levels are pretty. Music/SFX are good to go with the game. Combat is turn-based, but you have different effects and you can stare at character's faces. You can dash by holding down a key. There was one area where you actually zoom so fast with dash, that I had to slow down lol. I listened... well... read the story very intently. They use some big words, which helped educate even me. The way the enemy talked the whole time was funny... even though he is a pretty disturbing guy. I just want to know why Hime (Princess) didn't really cry or even care as to what exactly happened to her (her situation) and her family? I thought she would need a moment, ya know? Unless she always smiles, regardless of what happens to her and even in the face of danger... but you still need some sort of release. The story is... let's just say you need to turn off your "care-o-meter" way down or you will be upset by every single scene. It is a time of war, so if you are a passionate person, it will get ya. After all that, it's fun how much potions and supplies the enemies give me. I like the "stalking store guy" and sometimes I walked out of boundaries... by accident. Imagine being on top of the roof and bam! You are downstairs in the grass. Heh Heh. Ah yes and the game ends abruptly. I had to restart twice to see if that was actually it. There is Part II though! Time to see what happens to the characters!!! So thank ya for this game!!! :D =) :>
Just another RPG game that you should probably avoid.

RPG Maker strikes again!

Shining Plume is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction.

The "plot" for this RPG Maker asset flip is a painfully generic samurai hero story, congealed with endless rambling, error filled dialogue that makes paint drying seem breathtaking and thrilling. Once more Andorlea (through one of their sockpuppet Steam accounts) has truly made gaming worse with this endless copy + paste RPG Maker shovelware.

As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development.

Like most RPG Maker shovelware and asset flips, the game features extremely low quality copy + pasted 2D retro pixel art, looks awful, and has even worse gameplay. RPG Maker is an absolutely terrible construction kit, and never results in games of any reasonable quality or value to gamers.

Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this only appears around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards.

Gamers who want a good retro JRPG experience would be better off playing the originals, like Final Fantasy, Star Ocean or Chrono Trigger. Charging $4 for this RPG Maker asset flip is an insult to all gamers.
Shining Plume is a traditional fantasy role-playing game developed by Warfare Studios and published by Aldorlea Games that embraces the spirit of classic JRPG adventures while delivering a heartfelt story centered on courage, friendship, loss, and personal growth. Built around turn-based combat, world exploration, and character-focused storytelling, the game offers a nostalgic experience that prioritizes narrative and adventure over modern spectacle. While its presentation follows a retro-inspired design philosophy, its greatest strength lies in the emotional journey shared by its memorable cast of characters. The story follows Jun, a skilled samurai whose peaceful life is abruptly shattered by tragedy. What begins as a deeply personal tale of grief and survival gradually evolves into a larger fantasy adventure involving ancient mysteries, powerful enemies, and threats capable of changing the fate of the world. Jun's journey is not simply one of heroism but also one of self-discovery. As he travels across dangerous lands and encounters new companions, he is forced to confront painful memories and difficult truths that challenge both his beliefs and his understanding of himself. Unlike many role-playing games that focus primarily on large-scale conflicts, Shining Plume dedicates considerable attention to its characters and their relationships. Every member of the party contributes to the narrative in meaningful ways, bringing unique personalities, motivations, and emotional struggles. As the story unfolds, players witness friendships strengthen, loyalties tested, and personal burdens revealed. These interactions help create a genuine sense of camaraderie that makes the group feel like more than a collection of adventurers assembled for combat. Jun serves as an especially effective protagonist because of the personal nature of his journey. His motivations stem from loss and responsibility rather than destiny alone, making his growth feel authentic. Throughout the adventure, he evolves from a warrior driven by grief into a leader capable of inspiring those around him. His emotional development remains one of the strongest elements of the narrative and provides much of the story's emotional impact. Exploration is another major component of the experience. The game encourages players to venture beyond the main storyline and discover hidden treasures, optional content, and secrets scattered throughout its world. Towns, forests, dungeons, and remote locations each contain opportunities for discovery, rewarding players who take the time to investigate every corner of the map. This emphasis on exploration helps create a stronger sense of adventure and gives the world a feeling of scale and mystery. Combat follows a classic turn-based formula that will be familiar to fans of traditional Japanese role-playing games. Battles emphasize strategy rather than reflexes, requiring players to carefully manage resources, select appropriate abilities, and take advantage of each character's strengths. While the combat system does not radically reinvent genre conventions, it remains enjoyable because of the variety of enemies, character skills, and tactical options available throughout the adventure. Character progression is handled through experience gains, equipment upgrades, and skill development. As the party grows stronger, players gain access to increasingly powerful abilities and better gear, creating a rewarding sense of advancement. Every victory contributes to the gradual transformation of the party from inexperienced adventurers into capable heroes prepared to face greater threats. Visually, Shining Plume embraces a retro-inspired aesthetic that prioritizes charm and atmosphere. Colorful environments, detailed character sprites, and expressive portraits help bring the world to life despite the game's modest technical scope. Rather than relying on advanced graphics, the game focuses on creating a warm and inviting fantasy setting that captures the essence of classic role-playing adventures. The soundtrack complements the experience with a collection of melodic themes that support both exploration and storytelling. Emotional scenes benefit from gentle compositions that reinforce the narrative's dramatic moments, while more energetic tracks accompany battles and adventurous sequences. The music consistently enhances the atmosphere and contributes to the game's nostalgic appeal. One of the game's most appealing qualities is its emotional sincerity. The story frequently explores themes such as perseverance, friendship, sacrifice, and hope. While many fantasy adventures focus heavily on saving the world, Shining Plume often finds its greatest strength in smaller character moments. Conversations between companions, personal revelations, and emotional turning points help create a narrative that feels surprisingly intimate despite its larger fantasy backdrop. The game is not without its shortcomings. Some aspects of its design may feel dated to players accustomed to modern role-playing conveniences, and certain segments can occasionally feel slower than contemporary RPG standards. The retro presentation may also limit its appeal for players seeking cutting-edge visuals. However, these elements are largely part of the game's intended identity and are unlikely to bother fans of classic role-playing experiences. What ultimately makes Shining Plume stand out is its commitment to delivering a genuine adventure driven by strong characters and meaningful storytelling. It captures many of the qualities that made older RPGs memorable: a compelling hero, a loyal group of companions, a mysterious world to explore, and a narrative filled with emotional highs and lows. The game never relies on spectacle alone, instead focusing on the personal journeys of its cast and the bonds they form along the way. For players who appreciate traditional JRPGs, story-driven adventures, and character-focused fantasy narratives, Shining Plume offers a rewarding experience that remains engaging from beginning to end. Its combination of exploration, strategic combat, heartfelt storytelling, and memorable characters creates an adventure that successfully captures the charm of classic role-playing games while telling a story worth experiencing.
