I'll start this off by saying this is the first mainline SMT game I've played. I'm a huge persona fan and always wanted to give the mainline stuff a go. This game definitely did not disappoint. This games combat is like persona combat on steroids (In the best way possible). I cant emphasize how fun the combat in this game is. The dungeon crawling is a lot of fun often giving you some cool puzzles to solve to progress, and the actual combat is tough but feels very rewarding. If you're coming from persona and are used to not having to use a bunch of buffs and stuff to survive that's not gonna work here. You HAVE to take advantage of the tools at your disposal or else you wont make it far, which I find makes it a lot of fun. If you like turned based RPGs this is a must play. Not to mention the world of this game is so interesting. I wont get into it too much for spoiler reasons, but man it had me so invested. I would highly recommend getting this game if you're a fan of persona or other turn based RPGs. One of the other things i want to talk about is about the price and the remaster itself. Which.... yeah i wont lie this remaster is quite iffy. Keep in mind i have not played through the original ps2 version myself, but even i could see the massive shortcomings of this release. For one the game is locked at 30fps which made the whole game feel very blurry when turning (I should mention that you can fix this by using a mod to have it run at 60fps which i ended up doing). The second thing I wanted to mention is the music. Its amazing... but, its ridiculously compressed. It sucks that they didn't bother going through and making the music clearer with how amazing it is (Also a mod to make it clearer but i haven't tried it). The last thing is its kind of pricey for a mostly rushed remaster. I'm not necessarily mad at the price (heck the games so good I'd pay it again), but i can definitely say its too much. One big positive about the remaster (in my opinion) is the voice acting they added. I think the entire cast killed it, from the first lines they say you can already get a good grip on their personalities. I know some people are iffy about them adding voice acting to the game but i personally think its a huge plus. Keep in mind though I'm someone who will almost always take voice acted over not. Anyway this games a banger I highly recommend it, and if you're iffy on the price. Altus games go on sale fairly often so its not too much of a pain to wait for a sale.

Did you know that the Afrikaan's movement was the single greatest movement in South African history? Yeah that's what these developers want you to believe. And I fell for it.
