This is a big improvement over the first game. The usability is still frustrating but less than before. The game is shorter with very little side quests, which is a good thing. This way you can focus on the main story and keep up the pace. 7/10
Nice remaster, maybe the 2008 version is better but this one's a nice adaptation for it. Something to be taken into account when comparing the two if them are the supernatural elements that are brought into the game. The mysterious thing about the old version of the game is that nothing supernatural was explicit, and the ending was left for the player to interpret. This one feels much less like a Sherlock Holmes game, and far more Lovecraftian. Maybe that was the initial goal of this remaster, but it can feel odd when you've played the previous games in this franchise before. There are plenty of "weird" elements and things happening in the game that cannot be explained logically, and that's what, at least for me, stops it from being a faithful Sherlock Holmes adaptation.
It's an alright game, if you like lovecraftian books you probably won't hate it. If you like sherlock holmes video games though - is a different story, and you will probably will not like it.
Finished the game with full achievements! Had it on my wishlist and bought the game when its on sale. I do say the game is different than Sherlock Holmes Chapter One, it has more of a short side quest, with locked maps. Which is kinda frustraing at start because i didnt understand how to use the map, but i got the gist of it by reading the clues. The clues system in this one is very interesting. You can piece more than 2 clues and its not ambiguous like how Chapter One is. Theres no choices to pick in every chapter, the result will stay the same. The graphics as usual is very good. I just wish that when i pick the outfit it would stay on after the chapter or after Sherlock and Watson move to another place. But nonetheless it is a really fun game to play, i enjoy it. My motion sickness is bad while playing Sherlock Holmes :( If Frogwares can add FOV in game setting for their upcoming projects it would be appreciated.
Similar to my feeling of Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, its pretty good! I enjoy that you can now connect more than one piece of evidence to another. My only gripe has to do with the plot. This is spoiler friendly as it gets into it almost immediately in Chapter 2. The plot follows a cosmic/supernatural horror type investigation, one that's a little cheesy in my opinion. I'm personally not a fan of Sherlock Holmes being put into supernatural settings, as I enjoy the realistic elements to his investigations and that fact that its not fantastical. So this is definitely a personal preference more than anything. Besides that, I enjoy the game greatly. Once again, I think they really got Sherlock's character down well in this and same with Watson. Watson is so incredibly charming in this game and I can't help but love him. Probably one of my favorite characterizations of Dr. Watson! <33
A helyszínek jók, a sztori okés.
