Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective: The Case of the Banker's Final Debt

Very good but very short. Mystery solved in under 120 minutes. Plays exactly like the board game, "Scotland Yard: Consulting Detective" The video production, acting, and costumes were all excellent. They made the experience. For the price, the lack of content is okay, but the story was over by the time we were comfortable with the UI Hoping "Zojoi" can produce a DLC to give us more stories. We cracked the case using an Ubuntu Linux desktop computer, with Steam's Proton compatibility software.

Well-done remaster of this classic FMV series from the early 90s. Though this only includes the one specific case listed in the title, not 3 cases in 1 game like the original releases were. Anyone who played the original games or enjoys a good mystery and/or FMV game can't go wrong here. Still a bug or two as I write this a day after the release, but nothing that stops you from cracking the case.

Bugged for me, the judge would not allow me to solve the case even after I visited literally every listing possible ;_;

This is a fun and clever take on a *very small* Sherlock Holmes case. Almost 100% of your investigation is determining which ~10 out of 100 directory listings might be relevant to your case and some of them are interesting challenges. Then the judge asks you some basic questions to gauge how well you understood the case, which is kinda basic for the genre but decent enough. Overall the writing is serviceable but not nearly as incredible as Return of the Obra Dinn nor as memorable as Tyrion Cuthbert. For a pretty good 3-hour indy game, I think it's worth the $4 price tag.

This is a decent game. No too long. Good story and some good detective parts.

It's a deceptively simple Sherlock Holmes Visual Novel (FMV Style Game) with interactions where you send Scotland Yard and/or the Irregular Ones to go and find you information, then you present your case to the Judge but if you don't have ALL of the information the Case doesn't go ahead, and whilst that's a handy barometer to showcase whether or not you're on the right track it would be better if the game had a "bad end" where if you didn't find all the info the villain got away but I appreciate that wouldn't be in-keeping with The Master Detective

Ein guter Fall, ich mag das Konzept der Spielreihe sehr. Allerdings ist das der schwächste Fall. Ich habe die Lösung nur durch stumpfes Ausprobieren gefunden, er erscheint mir weniger logisch als die anderen Fälle.

I forgot how truly fun and well done these games were. The acting was phenomenal for a computer game and ahead of its time. Sometimes the puzzles don't always seem to make much sense but nevertheless it was a masterpiece of its time that still holds up today.

タイトルに「シャーロック・ホームズ」とついていますが、このゲーム、果たしてホームズである必要はあったのだろうか、と思います。 とはいえ、探偵ものが好きなADVゲームファンにはオススメです。 内容は、ある銀行家が殺された事件を調べるのですが、科学的な捜査は一切なく、ひたすら関係者に証言を聞いて回る感じです。 ホームズまたはワトソン、あるいは二人ともが関係者もしくは関係する場所へ赴いた先でのインタビューは動画が流れます。 その動画の英語はノンストップなため、サブタイトル（字幕）つきでも理解が難しいこともあるけれど、動画以外に調査メモ（ノート）や、新聞記事といったものがあり、それらはPCOT＆DEEPL翻訳で十分理解可能です。 ストーリーはいたって単純かつ探偵の初歩というか、得られた証言で入手した情報を基に新たな証言をたどっていけば、おのずと答えが出る感じなので、英語の勉強がてら探偵ものを数時間プレイしてみる価値はあります。 たぶん、ネイティブならば小一時間で終わる尺です。 皆さんはどうかわかりませんが、私は海外のゲームを英語の勉強を兼ねてやっていまして、このゲームはそういった観点からはとてもオススメできます。 というのも、きれいなイギリス英語で発音は聞き取りやすいし、新聞記事や調査ノートの英語もとても読みやすくわかりやすいのと、「ああ、イギリス英語ではこう表現するのね」という発見が結構あり、普段の英語学習を米語でやっている日本人には新鮮な面白さがあります。 個人的には、ちらっとしか出てこない、ちょっとゲイっぽい動きの役者さんがめちゃ気になってますｗ 存在感ありすぎだろ、って制作者さん達も思ったのか、脇役中の脇役なのにドアップシーンがあり、このワンシーンだけでも十分元が取れた感がありました。 実写版ゲームってほんと、隅から隅までいろんなところを見る楽しみがあって好きです。 これはシリーズ化してほしいくらいです。→後日追記：なんと、すでにシリーズ化されてました！ｗ こうした良質のインディ製推理ゲームが増えてほしいな～と常々思っています。
