For other game reviews, please follow us at What The Game?
As a game that is incredibly shallow, with no story, extremely basic gameplay elements and no variation at all, Sheriff Rage is a game I would just outright avoid. I completed the full game in less than 6 minutes and at a price point of currently 4USD, there is no way i could suggest this title. I don't mind games that are short if they have lots of replay value and are at price points that justify only playing them for short times, but this is a clear cash grab title. The only thing in Sheriff Rage that is well done is the art. All of the enemies are exactly the same with different images to represent them. All of the AI move and act the same, so the enemies don't even have varies personalities of any kind. To be honest, this game feels a lot to me like it was probably a minor school project in an intro to game development class or something like that. If you spend money on this game, you will walk away very disappointed.

Sheriff Rage is a "template flip", that is to say, it's a "game" that has been produced by copying a game template or using a game construction kit, and changing a few things. In this case it was a template for doing a simple 2D top down shooter game with a few asset flipped western sprites tacked on, all slapped together lazily with the godawful GameMaker Studio 2 game construction kit (made for children so they can toy with simple video game design concepts educationally, and never intended for professional publications). This is deplorably low quality bundle trash. No professional effort was made in terms of game development, copying a template/using a game construction kit requires no talent, and unsurprisingly produces products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. It's almost as bad as an outright asset flip. This is nothing but a lazy, greedy cash grab and should be avoided.
How could this "game" rated as "Mostly Positive?" I had more effort on the toilet than the dev had making this product. For achievement hunters: you can beat the game less than 10 minutes... But not sure that this one worths your time.
Sheriff Rage is a western—style action game in which you play as the sheriff of the city of Oldstone, protecting its residents from alien invaders. Using Wild West weapons, you fight hordes of alien enemies and huge bosses to clear the city of the threat.
Even though this game is around 2 minutes long, its still an enjoyable 2 minutes.

Интересная аркада. С пожеланий хотелось чтобы была возможность кооператива.
Sheriff Rage, developed and published by Gehoo media, is a compact arcade shooter that embraces a deliberately simple formula while injecting it with a quirky blend of western themes and sci-fi chaos. The premise alone—a lone sheriff defending his town from alien invaders—sets the tone for a game that doesn’t take itself too seriously, instead focusing on fast-paced action and relentless challenge. It’s a straightforward experience built around reflexes and repetition, designed more for quick bursts of gameplay than long, evolving sessions. The gameplay centers on top-down shooting mechanics where players must survive waves of enemies while navigating increasingly dense bullet patterns. Movement, positioning, and timing are everything, as the game constantly pushes players to react quickly to threats coming from all directions. There are no elaborate systems or deep customization options; instead, the challenge comes from mastering the basics and adapting to escalating difficulty. Each level functions as a contained test of skill, with enemies growing more aggressive and patterns becoming more complex over time. The simplicity makes the game easy to pick up, but it also means that improvement relies entirely on player skill rather than unlocking new abilities or strategies. A key aspect of the experience is its unforgiving nature. The game leans into a “trial-and-error” design, where mistakes are punished immediately and progress often requires multiple attempts. This creates a tense and sometimes satisfying loop for players who enjoy overcoming difficult challenges through persistence. However, it can also be a source of frustration, especially when success feels tied to memorizing enemy patterns rather than reacting dynamically. The lack of checkpoints or forgiving systems reinforces this old-school design philosophy, which will appeal to a specific audience while potentially alienating others. Visually, Sheriff Rage adopts a pixel-art style that aligns with its arcade roots. The graphics are clean and readable, which is essential for a game that depends on quick reactions, but they remain fairly basic in terms of detail and variety. Character and enemy designs are functional, and while there are moments of charm in the presentation, the overall aesthetic doesn’t stand out in a significant way. The audio design follows a similar pattern, providing adequate feedback and background music without adding much to the game’s identity. In terms of content, the game is relatively limited. It offers a sequence of levels that increase in difficulty, along with a few achievements and challenges to encourage replayability. However, there is little in the way of narrative development or evolving gameplay systems, which can make the experience feel repetitive over time. It works best as a short-session game, where players can jump in for a quick challenge rather than invest in extended play. Despite its limitations, Sheriff Rage succeeds in delivering a focused arcade experience that knows exactly what it wants to be. It doesn’t attempt to innovate or expand beyond its core idea, but it provides a consistent and occasionally engaging test of reflexes and patience. For players who enjoy difficult, skill-based shooters with a retro feel, it offers a straightforward challenge that can be satisfying in small doses. For others, its lack of depth and variety may make it difficult to stay engaged for long. Rating: 6/10
It has great music and graphics but serves absolutely no purpose, takes less than five minutes to finish and you cannot lose.
