About
Shelves And Sorcery is a relaxing fantasy organization game about turning absolute chaos back into order.
Weapons, potions, spellbooks, fruits, vegetables, magical curiosities, and thousands of other items have been scattered throughout three fantasy shops. Pick everything up, find where it belongs, and slowly watch each shop return to the way it was meant to be.
Take your time and enjoy the satisfaction of putting everything in its place, or learn every corner of the shop and race against players around the world for the fastest time.
Choose from three shops of dramatically different sizes, each with its own setting, atmosphere, and challenge. Then return to them in four different modes, whether you want to relax, chase the fastest time, wield every bit of magic from the start, or organize without magic at all.
• Casual Mode – No timer and no pressure. Take your time, enjoy the atmosphere, and organize every shelf at your own pace.
• Timed Mode – Race against the clock and compete on the global leaderboards. Learn where every item belongs, master your Sorceries and Enchantments, perfect your route, and keep pushing for a faster time.
• Archmage Mode – Start with every Sorcery and Enchantment already unlocked. Take on the entire shop at full magical strength and see just how powerful an experienced shopkeeper can be.
• No Magic Mode – The magic of the world has escaped. No Sorceries. No Enchantments. No magical shortcuts. Just you, thousands of misplaced items, and the knowledge you've gained along the way.
1,000+ items to organize
A cozy shop tucked away in the quiet village of Burg. Once a welcoming stop for locals and passing adventurers, its shelves have fallen into disarray. With 1,048 items to restore, it's a comfortable introduction to the satisfying world of organizing.
3,000+ items to organize
A well-loved shop in the bustling market town of Stonebridge, built through years of honest work by its humble merchant. With 3,085 misplaced items, restoring The Merchant's Rest offers a much larger challenge with plenty of shelves waiting to be put right.
4,000+ items to organize
High above the clouds on the floating isle of Vane stands a legendary shop filled with magical treasures from across the world. With 4,066 items scattered throughout, The Grand Athenaeum is the largest challenge of them all. Take your time restoring it, or master every shelf and chase the fastest time.
Thankfully, you don't have to organize thousands of magical objects entirely by hand.
As you make progress, unlock Sorceries designed to help you tackle the mess.
Gather matching items from around the shop, reveal objects you've been struggling to find, or use magic to send items toward the shelves where they belong.
The more you organize, the more powerful your magical toolkit becomes.
Magic isn't limited to spells.
Unlock Enchantments that permanently improve your abilities and change how you move through each shop.
Carry more items at once. Increase your reach. Move faster. Jump higher. Eventually, even take to the air.
Combined with your Sorceries, these abilities can turn an experienced shopkeeper into an organizing force of nature and become an important part of chasing faster times.
Whether you're carefully organizing The Hearth & Barrel after a long day, working your way through the thousands of items inside The Merchant's Rest, or fighting for a place on the leaderboard in The Grand Athenaeum, Shelves And Sorcery is built around one simple satisfaction:
Finding where something belongs...
and finally putting it there.

Interesting items to sort. Its great to have multiple maps with different modes to try. Easily one of the best sorting/ tidy up games out there.
There's a flood of this type of game coming out now - every single arcane library dropped. This is a nice polished version of the (apparently new) subgenre. Several different maps, game isn't buggy. My one gripe is that a LOT of the items are really hard to differentiate. I wish the models were 30-50% larger or they were more visually different. The books for instance are super hard to decipher what's what. Also, it's hard to read the name tags on the shelves with the current lighting / font setup. Still - I'm enjoying the game.

It's maybe the best second entry for anyone looking for their Arcane Library-esque fix. It has multiple levels, which I didn't expect, and various modes of completing each. The music is nice and not too intrusive, the graphics are decent and there's tons of items to put back on the shelves. My only wish in this type of games is that they'd add a button to re-randomise the items on the ground, because after you place a few there's lots of them floating in mid-air. Compared to AL it's not a problem due to them not having collision boxes.
If you liked The Librarian:Tidy up the Arcane Library and Teddy's haven, like I did, you will definitely like this one! Graphics and vibe just like in Teddy's Haven, gameplay similar to the librarian only with a shop that has you sorting out all kinds of items rather than a library where you sort out just books. As for length of the game- I did the first shop so far and it took me about 2 hours to complete. Hope that gives you some idea.
This game has been so much fun to play; just throw on some music or a show and organize to your hearts content.
I haven't played a lot of tidy-up games but this is such a visual standout I had to get it right away and I'm having a fantastic time. The items to put on shelves are all super colorful and fun. There are really funny book titles and interesting swords, magic wands and toys. I can easily lose hours to this...and have, and will continue to do so!
Crashes a lot on steam deck and sometimes controls will randomly stop working. Seemed cool but it's unplayable on steam deck.
On a scale from to Librarian: Arcade Library? Solid 8. Shelves & Sorcery takes a nice step on the Sortslop (non-derogatory) genre, giving you three spaces to sort (roughly 1k, 3k, and 4k objects depending on which you pick), as well as a casual vs leaderboard/timed mode. Once you complete either of those, you can also opt to do a no-magic run or one with every skill already unlocked, allowing for more customization if you want to replay any of the levels. The models are nice, the colorful cartoony aesthetics are charming, and the accuracy of the controllers for which item you're interacting with is smooth, which is a key basic aspect of any sortslop game. The only downside is that it feels like your character has bone pain, as toggling crouch will make them lower themselves with the cautious, slow care of one who knows aching joints. On top of speeding up the crouch animation, I wish there was an option to hold for sprint/crouch vs a toggle. Worthy member of the sortslop genre.
Genuinely fantastic. I love games where I can completely lose myself in for ages that also satisfy the 'tisms, and this one certainly doesn't disappoint. There's so much to do, sort through and organise, and not only is it aesthetically pleasing fantasy wise, it's also great just standing back and admiring your handiwork when you're done. There's so much content and replay value, and for the price it's a friggin' steal. If like me you loved Arcane Library then this is definitely for you!
