She and the Light Bearer

She and the Lightbearer is a beautiful and unique-looking game that follows up its lovely visuals with solid puzzle gameplay, a unique fairytale story, and doesn't overstay its welcome. I'm not a huge fan of point-and-clicks, which have a tendency to be obtuse and illogical, so I'm happy to report that She and the Lightbearer is a totally smooth and solveable experience. In fact, I think it'd be an excellent game to introduce kids to video games and play along with a child -- it's so storybooklike that it's easy to imagine reading it aloud as a bedtime story. The viuals are unique and striking, it's abstract and angular interpretations of plants and animals lending it a kind of delightful weirdness that I particularly liked. I played with the sound off, for better or worse, so can't comment on the music of voices. I do wish there weren't missable achievements -- it's a weird stress mechanism that seems to run counter to the game's goals. All in all though, a really great buy -- the $9.99 feels a smidge high for the playtime but it's definitely worth it on sale and if you particularly like this type of game could be worth it at full price.

Le jeu aborde des thèmes tels que la maternité, la nature et la confiance, le tout porté par une direction artistique incroyable : chaque scène semble sortie d’un livre de contes, avec des couleurs harmonieuses, un style graphique poétique et une musique envoûtante. Les personnages sont attachants, et les dialogues sont tendres et mystérieux, renforçant l’atmosphère féérique du jeu. Cependant, le gameplay est limité : peu d’interactions et d’énigmes, le joueur est surtout spectateur de l’histoire. Le rythme est lent, et certains passages peuvent sembler trop longs pour ceux qui recherchent un peu de dynamisme.

Pretty point and click adventure game with rather easy puzzles. I 100%'d the game in just under 3 hours. The art sold me on this one and I picked it up on sale. I loved the different characters and their personalities. The ending surprised me which was a bonus. All in all an enjoyable game to spend a few hours in and I very much recommend it! Но она мне так понравилась своей легкостью, что могу сказать -- это отличное произведение для любого возраста. [h2] Плюсы [/h2] 1) Уникальная рисовка. Мультяшная и красочная. Цвета гармонично сочетаются друг с другом в локациях, создавая эффект волшебства, которого по сюжету много. 2) Легкий сюжет. Да, есть "вау" поворот, даже два, но это в конце, где я даже пустил слезу. Но эти повороты не заставляют устать или отложить игру. Они как вишенка на торте. 3) Хороший юмор. Гриб мой любимый перс, как и сонный чел. 4) В меру сложно играть. Подсказок нет, только если спрашивать у персонажей про задание. 5) Подходящий саунд. Я иногда просто его слушал на локациях, погружаясь в свои мысли. 6) Хорошая цена. И само соотношение цены и продолжительности игры. 7) Интересная озвучка. [h2] Минусы [/h2] 1) Долгая анимация перехода из локации в локацию. Да, 7 секунд для меня долго. [h2] Итог [/h2] 10/10, со скидкой must hаve. Я не любитель головоломок, но игра берет юмором и диалогами, а не муторным выискиванием предметов.

It was fun playing this puzzle game while it's raining outside and I have a hot cup of mocha. I can't say it was too easy nor too difficult. You can definitely figure things out as you try several ways along the game. I hope there's more to it. I like the art and music as well.

Лес живой… просто прислушайся 𖧧 Интерактивная сказка с уютной фолк-музыкой. Несложный геймплей с загадками, упор на диалоги, поэтичность и настроение. Вы - маленький светлячок, который отправляется в лес, чтобы найти "Мать" и вернуть свет миру. И этот лес… он сказочный, но с лёгкой меланхолией. В нём живут странные, но милые персонажи. Короткая и теплая история, рекомендую!

The art is wonderful, the music is great. (I did turn down the character voices.) Only chapter 3 really is something I'd call a point and click game, the other chapters are more like a Visual Novel. (Not an issue, but if you play this looking for a challenge it'd be disappointing) I wasn't gonna recommend this, because I think Mojiken tried too hard on the funny dialogue. It didn't make the characters more sympathetic, or the story more compelling. (Unfortunate because the designs and visuals are all very good) However, chapter 5 forces them to do what they're actually good at - atmospheric, poetic storytelling. And suddenly they really landed the ending of the game for me, and I gotta give them a positive rec. Hah.

Очень инди, но очень хорошо. По подходу это не полноценная адвенчура/квест, а скорее визуальная новелла, где тебя ведут по истории за ручку, полностью "в лоб" подсвечивая немногочисленные точки применения опять же немногочисленных предметов скудного инвентаря. В обмен ты читаешь диалоги, смотришь на мордочки, слушаешь "универсализированную" озвучку персонажей - на это и упор. Проходится за 4 часа: взрослому как лёгкий досуг на пару вечеров, ребёнку же или пожилым родителям как преддверье к большим адвенчурам. Перевод хороший, за него отдельное спасибо.

Not a challenging point and click, but short and enjoyable. The art is lovely! I played through a second time on sped up dialogue for the achievements I missed, game play is probably around 1-1.5 hours. Good for younger players, players who just want to follow the story without puzzling through.

Coloré, mignon, touchant. Trop simple pour quelqu'un qui cherche de la réflexion mais idéal pour quelqu'un prêt à se laisser raconter une histoire ou un jeune enfant découvrant les jeux vidéo. Seul bémol pour les francophones : pas de traduction. Dommage pour eux. (Aprèèèèès, vous pourrez toujours motiver votre cousin de 10 ans à jouer en lui disant que ça compte comme du travail en anglais...)
