Even if the 1st entry was way older, it's still the best in the series. This game? Not a real Shadow Warrior. Gameplay is similar, but everything else feels... off. So colorful, so cringe, so strange? This is not Lo Wang I know. Graphics are also very bad, it looks like it's not 4K I'm playing on. It feels like I'm playing on DLSS Ultra Perfromance on, although I have it off nad scale on 100%... Story is very boring and casual, eveything already seen and told. But, those are not that big a problem if the gameplay is good. But it isn't, unforutnately. It has strange bugs with climbing those vines (why the hell are there vines to climb in Shadow Warrior?) and getting stuck in map and such. There is literally game-breaking bug where you can cancel the reload? When you empty our mag, just swing your sword once and you can shoot again, which makes guns like rocket launcher op. Feels so unfinished. And the whole style of the games feels off, it's not what I loved about Shadow Warrior. Those jester enemies, what are those, actually? Is this game trying to be comedy or what? Shooting those firecrackers? I'm not digging that stuff, really. If you lik boomer-shooter games, maybe give it a try for like 5$, but I would still not recommned it, do not destroy your memory of Shadow Warrior (if you have it). [i]
I really, honestly do not understand the negativity towards this game. Maybe it comes directly from the dislike of Doom Eternal. Other than that, I'm honestly confused. Shadow Warrior 3 took every good element from Doom Eternal, improved a bit, and adapted stylistically. Nowadays, you seldom see the unique approach to the sequels like Flying Wild Hog does. Not only characters, but the world itself changes dramatically, which makes every entry unique and fresh. Ashame that, perhaps, this is the last part of the reboot story. Unless they go for a prequel. Nevertheless, I absolutely enjoyed this game and hope for new projects from Flying Wild Hog.
