This game is my first experience with the SGS series. The lack of tutorials/ instruction/ videos on how to play is surprising. And frustrating. I would expect more from a game that's just a few years old. Can't say I'd recommend it.
Excellent game for strategy enthusiasts .. runs perfect for Mac OS not much of processor or ram requirments.. Thank you for making this game simple and fun!
So far I have purchased 3 SGS games but have not been able to really enjoy them. I think what discourages me most about them is that you have cards, but cannot really choose the ones you want to use making for a very scripted experience. Also the air force interface is difficult to use.
Tunisia requires much strategic thinking but you have plenty of time to do it. No twitching necessary here. Having lived in Tunisia, I was impressed with the map detail and the local photos. I feel the learning curve is a little steep but persevering leads to an enjoyable challenge. Replay is enhanced by the randomly drawn cards.
After a brief pause due to my studies, I gifted myself with Afrika Korps Tunisia. I had spent hours on SGS Afrika Korps, so I was eager to discover "what happened next". I can say I am more than pleased, and it is even better than the one on the Libyan campaign. In the hills of Tunisia, the last fight of the Axis versus the Allies is very well rendered. All is there, from the bad weather to the inexperience of US green troops, with tons of historical events and cards to play for flavor or variety in the gameplay The small scenarios are challenging, and even one that could seem dull at first glance (breaking the Mareth line) is a real challenge. The care given to details is pleasingly augmented by the beautiful units and maps graphics. I am becoming a fan of this collection. I'll try their next game soon (SGS Heia Safari), but only after I have played more with Rommel and Patton here.
