if i had a figment for everytime i got warped into the void on a good run...
it is good, the music is good. Im good to thanks for asking.
Totally MEH
Oyun kötü tasarlanmış.
Serious Sam: Tormental is an inventive roguelite shooter developed by Gungrounds and published by Devolver Digital that takes the legendary Serious Sam formula in an unexpected direction. Instead of the franchise’s traditional first-person perspective, the game adopts a top-down twin-stick shooter format while preserving the explosive action and overwhelming enemy encounters that have defined the series for years. The result is a surprisingly effective blend of arcade-style gunplay, procedural progression, and chaotic battles that manages to feel both familiar and refreshingly different. The game's story unfolds within the bizarre realm known as the Tormental, a twisted dimension born from fear, madness, and distorted imagination. This unusual setting allows the developers to move beyond the familiar deserts and ruins associated with previous Serious Sam adventures and create environments that feel surreal and unpredictable. The dreamlike nature of the world gives every stage a unique identity, making exploration and combat more visually engaging than one might expect from a roguelite shooter. At its core, Serious Sam: Tormental is all about surviving impossible odds. Enemies pour onto the screen in enormous numbers, creating battles that constantly test reflexes and situational awareness. Players are rarely given a moment to relax as they weave through projectile storms, avoid encirclement, and unleash relentless firepower. The game captures the signature feeling of being vastly outnumbered that has always been central to the Serious Sam experience, translating it remarkably well into a top-down format. Combat remains consistently entertaining thanks to responsive controls and an impressive variety of weapons. Every firearm offers a distinct feel, from rapid-fire weapons designed for crowd control to devastating options capable of eliminating stronger enemies in seconds. Discovering new equipment and experimenting with different loadouts becomes one of the game's most rewarding elements. The satisfaction of watching entire waves of monsters disappear under a barrage of bullets never loses its appeal. A major factor behind the game's replayability is its procedural structure. Levels, enemy placements, and rewards are generated differently with each attempt, ensuring that no two runs unfold exactly the same way. This unpredictability encourages adaptability and keeps players engaged over multiple sessions. Even after becoming familiar with the core mechanics, the changing layouts and encounters provide enough variation to maintain interest. The upgrade system adds another layer of depth to the experience. Throughout each run, players acquire passive bonuses, weapon modifications, and powerful abilities that significantly influence performance. Some upgrades focus on increasing damage output, while others enhance mobility, survivability, or unique special effects. Combining these upgrades can lead to wildly different builds, giving players the freedom to experiment and discover combinations that suit their preferred playstyle. The inclusion of multiple playable characters further enhances replay value. Each character possesses distinct strengths and abilities, encouraging players to approach combat from different angles. This feature helps prevent the gameplay from becoming repetitive and gives returning players new challenges to master. Learning how each character interacts with various upgrades and weapons creates additional strategic possibilities that extend the game's longevity. Visually, the game embraces a colorful and stylized aesthetic that complements its surreal setting. Strange creatures, bizarre landscapes, and elaborate visual effects fill the screen during combat encounters. Despite the sheer volume of enemies and projectiles, the action generally remains readable, allowing players to react appropriately even during the most chaotic battles. The artistic direction successfully balances spectacle and clarity, which is crucial for a game built around constant movement and intense combat. Boss fights serve as dramatic highlights throughout the adventure. These encounters require more than simply overwhelming opponents with firepower. Players must learn attack patterns, manage positioning carefully, and make efficient use of their upgrades. The bosses embody the exaggerated scale and challenge that fans associate with the Serious Sam franchise, providing satisfying tests of skill that punctuate each run. The audio presentation also deserves recognition. Fast-paced music and energetic sound effects help maintain the game's relentless momentum. Weapons feel powerful, enemy attacks carry impact, and the soundtrack amplifies the excitement of surviving increasingly difficult encounters. Together, the audio and visual design create an atmosphere that constantly pushes players forward. While the game offers plenty of strengths, it is not entirely free from shortcomings. Certain runs can feel dependent on the quality of upgrades obtained, and repeated play eventually reveals familiar patterns despite the procedural generation. Players expecting a story-driven experience may also find the narrative relatively light compared to the gameplay focus. However, these issues do little to diminish the overall enjoyment provided by the action-packed core mechanics. Serious Sam: Tormental succeeds because it understands what makes the franchise enjoyable and reinterprets those qualities through a modern roguelite framework. Massive enemy swarms, powerful weapons, rewarding progression systems, and endless replayability combine to create an engaging experience that stands comfortably on its own merits. Rather than feeling like a simple spin-off, it proves that the Serious Sam formula can thrive outside its traditional genre while retaining the spirit that fans love. Rating: 7/10
Decent spinoff I give 8 sams out of 10 mentals
Divertente, frenetico e altamente rigiocabile. Grafica simpatica, difficoltà bel calibrata!
