Very relaxing game except for a mildly spooky part in the very beginning. I recommend first time playthru make honest choices to learn something about yourself. Super simple puzzles. Some places have a Vaporwave feel but the mall in general unfortunately does not. Loved the music hated the blinding white transition screens. Hours played is not accurate, game is relatively short but if you want all achievements you have to replay a handful of times but it's quick when you know what to do. Overall I enjoyed the game.
I don't like criticizing games that feel like a passion project, but this game made me so annoyed, I can't help it. First things first: the concept is lovely, I adore walking simulators and liminal spaces, so these two combined seemed like the greatest time of all to me and the reviews were positive, so there's that. But as I played, I quickly realized the game was trying way too hard to be deep - the whole concept is basically know thyself, but they couldnt make it less subtle if they tried. There were times I was rolling my eyes, thinking about how it all sounded like something a middle schooler would think it's deep. The whole "you can't be your true self if you care too much about society" message is sweet, but the execution is terrible. As to gameplay: it is a bit clunky, sometimes you have ti click on things and the prompt doesn't appear until you move in a very specific way. The puzzles are way too easy. I'm usually not the type to play hard games, but these puzzles give you no sense of achievement with how easy they are. The voice acting sounded like the CDs I had to listen to during English classes when I was still learning the language - it's unnatural. It's an aesthetically pleasing game, truly. It's beautiful to look at. But I can't count the amount of times I rolled my eyes as I watched the cutscenes. It felt like that reddit board "I'm 12 and this is deep."

This game cured my Oedipus complex! I highly recommend Mommy to others! I mean, recommend Id. Er, IT! Anyways, climb onto a Psychologist's couch and play a lovely game!
Self-Checkout Unlimited is a visually impressive walking simulator that misses the mark in other respects. It wears a Vaporwave aesthetic without analysis or delving into the movement's associated themes. This isn't necessarily a deal breaker on the whole, but in the context of the rest of the game's aspects, the facade is slightly grating. Self-Checkout plays like a pseudo-scientific personality quiz. It exudes pretension and new-wave mysticism with little substance. The environment is visually appealing and the primary highlight of the game, despite being very small and limited. Exploring its disappointingly small environment is the game's most interesting aspect, but is interrupted by pretentious dialogue on occasion. The game requires a specific order of interaction on objects and the exploration, which can lead to some frustration. I would not recommend Self-Checkout Unlimited.
This game has a multitude of things wrong with it. The first thing is that it asks for a firewall exception despite not being an online game or having features that would require firewall permission. Second of all, the game has multiple sections where you have to use a computer in game to select an answer from a dropdown menu but this is absolutely broken in full screen. It's almost impossible to pick the option you want so I ended up just picking whatever I managed to click on and it would accept. There's a bit of a lack of direction and objectives are sometimes a bit too vague to understand what it wants you to do to progress. Finally, this game is *SUPER* pretentious. The whole game tries to fool you into thinking it's really deep but it gets really annoying almost immediately. I just wanted to walk around a mall and this game is the furthest from what I expected.
not sure how to feel about this game. it's not really fun, per se but it's very interesting. it feels eerie, strange, weird and just plain creepy almost the entire time but def most towards the end. It's very psychoanalysing and a little scary too but it's so nice i will say for the actual game play is pretty alright, i didn't realize you could sprint until like halfway thru the game, the ambience is v nice especially with the voice over. if you ever dont know what to do, i looked up a playthrough and just tried to remember what the speaker said because that's like your only clue. there aren't any jumpscares either, it's more psychological horror but it's so good would play again, not sure if i would buy again but very interesting/10
whoa dude...
