Trigger warning: clowns. Lots & lots of clowns. If you're afraid of clowns, you may never be able to sleep again. If you're not afraid of clowns, you probably will be after this. Here's my gameplay video before I ran into the clowns: https://youtu.be/faqxxSlSR38
Dreamlike, cryptid photo hunting! Pokemon Snap on a DMT trip, with VR support that feels great. I came for the chill photography vibes, but found a totally unexpected surrealist adventure that sometimes gives Zelda vibes. Novel, unexpected encounters and circuitous paths make this a photography safari adventure. Love the island design and it's day night cycle. Feels very immersive traversing the island, with dynamic visual touches and a tonally diverse soundtrack that give different zones their own texture. I find myself traveling on foot (a fast travel option is available, but I like to walk!) to particular places because of their specific atmosphere at unique times of day. Played on Valve Index and Quest 2 wireless.
This game is incredible, imaginative and interesting. You don't need a VR headset, I played on keyboard and mouse controls worked smoothly. I don't want to spoil anything for you. Please support this game, they have done amazing work.
Isle of Pan feels like a lucid dream that you just want to explore. It's a different plane of existence filled with extraordinary creatures and constructs. I thoroughly enjoyed the demo version but it only shows a small amount of what you can expect. While you're taking pictures of all the weird stuff around you, this game pulls you in with an interesting world and pocket dimensions to explore. There is interactibility to a certain extent that I didn't expect and gadets to find. One example: I accidentally blew up the moon. This game is an experience perfectly suited for VR and I can't wait to dive in deeper. While the graphics seem simple at first glance, they fit the art style and bring it all together. I would also like to encourage you to join the Discord. The developer has an open ear for feedback of all kind and even put in the effort to update the demo with some accessibility options and improvements that people suggested prior to the release.
Extremely fun and unique photography game! it's really satisfying to take a picture of a new creature, and the creatures change poses when u take a pic of them, so then you can take another picture! the whole thing is a very weird and surreal experience, parts of it feel like walking thru a really amazing haunted house. there seems to be surprises around every turn! some times i'm like "should i take a pic of this worm?" and then i do and it rewards me, cuz it really is about all the creatures!!! anyway i'm really enjoying this so far, and i can't wait to see what else there is to discover on the island!
Trippy 90s CGI Animation: The Video Game
I really love how fresh and new this game is. It's a great change of pace from the FPS games I usually play and a very good VR experience. The world they have created is so fascinating and thought provoking. It is such fun exploring the island and finding all kinds of unexpected things along they way. Creative, beautiful and very well done.
This is my favorite VR game right now. It's fun to wander around, photograph creatures, and look for portals. This is what VR should be used for. I don't want my virtual world to be a simple knock-off of the real world. This game highlights the surreal, psychedelic, wild and crazy side of VR. It's a walking simulator, hidden object game, creature photo collector, with simple puzzles, exotic portals, and it's a great low-stress way to unwind. Made by a single developer, this game is amazing. The game plays great with the valve Index headset and Index controllers, and it looks nice. I've played the game with and without a VR headset, and it's a good game with or without the VR. There's also a free demo to download and check out.
Love the game. It is lots of fun and very cool animations. I enjoy coming upon totally unexpected creatures while exploring. Can't wait to explore more and planning to get a VR set just to enjoy this game in VR.
This has quickly become one of my all-time favorite VR games. This game really captures the immersive feeling of exploring interesting and surreal places while coming across all sorts of strange and mystical creatures along the way. The unique gameplay mechanic of taking photos works incredibly well in VR. Not only is It fun to explore, solve puzzles, and progress in the world, but the camera also helps bring attention to the parts of the game that really shine, the beautiful and unique worlds and their contents. I really hope the hidden gem gets the traction is deserves. I hope the dev or devs make a sequel or dlc, and if they do I hope that one day they can somehow incorporate multiplayer support because literally every few minutes of seeing something cool, my first thought was to have the urge of wanting to show someone else how cool the experience was! Awesome game! Strong recommend.
