Secret agent HD is really fun first time playing it and love it just like the duke nukem 1 and 2 games they need to bring those back
Finding this game on Steam was like finding a rare NES game at goodwill. I remember playing this game on our families DOS computer on a cold day when I was sick back in the day. The smell of the computer hardware and floppy disk. And the game sounds when jumping and collecting items. I spent most of the day playing this only for my mom to find me out of bed and on the computer telling me to get back to bed. I never got pass the second chapter and found it difficult. Now as an adult it is interesting to see what I thought was hard back in the day is easy now. Thank you to the devs and steam for putting this one out there. I can now beat the game I started as a child. Excellent nostalgia, and fun relaxing game to burn some time.
Awesome game. loving it
Among the best DOS games ever made. Just buy the damn thing and enjoy the nostalgia. Apogee 4ever -
Brutal, meticulous classic puzzle action platformer . On one end, you have Super Meat Boy, Battleblock Theater, N++, Alien Hominid, Cloudberry Kingdom, Super Mario, Celeste, etc that are fast precision platformers. Secret Agent HD is on the other end of the spectrum. I went into this game thinking that it'll be like Halloween Harry or 2D Duke Nukem. Maybe it's a bit more like GODS but better to control. Secret Agent requires meticulous, planned, tactical precision platforming, which could be rare to find in modern platformer games these days. Puzzle, Planning - In order to progress through a level, you need to find certain keys that open certain doors; items that unlock paths / remove obstacles / create paths. It is possible to get stuck or use the wrong key on the wrong door, or break the 'key-item usage' puzzle sequence. You have to restart again. Brutal - While you have 3 health, there are traps that can one shot kill you. Now you have to retry the entire level again. Good thing is that the levels are small. Once you get the correct solution, you can solve it in less than a minute or two. There's no loading screen, no lull in the action; there's always a 'one more try' motivation each time you die. You will also voluntarily want to retry the level; You missed a collectible. You collected 'SPY' in the wrong order. You realized you could have done something else, You want to try it again with a perfect run. Only thing I didn't like was that you cannot retry a level again once it's completed. You have to re-do the episode. But since each level is small enough, you can speedrun each episode in less than 1 - 2 hrs. Overall, there are 4 episodes with 16 levels in each. There's also a level editor and Steam Workshop with user-made levels to play. P.S. I played on both Steam Deck and PC. Cloud saves work fine.
A very simple, easy platformer that can develop into surprising depth and difficulty for such an old game. This remake is faithful and well done. Absolutely worth the dollar it cost me!
I finished playing Secret Agent HD today and it is a fun game. I got to the very end of each episode. The last few levels in episode 4 are hard but I made it through. Great game.
Very challenging for a senior citizen like me.
It provides quite an amazing challenge because of the puzzles.
