WELCOME TO SECOND SUN, A PASSION PROJECT BY AN INDIE DEV TEAM

A civil war rages between the Empire and the Order of the Second Sun. The land has been ravaged and the Empire is on the verge of ruin. Hope is dwindling rapidly, as the Good Sun's light dims. You are a Sunborn, a warrior with special abilities, tasked with protecting the Empire. All hope is on you to win the war. The Empire expects great things of you.

Fight off enemies using your class abilities, weapons, and, above all, your skills in this Hi-octane FPS RPG. Combat is fast-paced and relies on movement. Enemies will claw at you, shoot at you, and chase you. Will you be able to fight your way through them before it is too late?

this is a good game but i do worry about the dev team sticking to it long term.. they have been radio silent for months now. so keep this in mind if deciding to pick this up. ill keep an eye on it for myself but i was waiting for some bigger updats to this game before i dive in.. good news is whats here is worth picking up for that price heres to hoping that they are working hard on a big content update
I find after playing the game for 7 hours, myself frustrated. The NPC interacts as repetitive and slow. item management is poor. In the attempt o play I lost my Legendary chest armor when attempting to "remove" the mods I had slot, as it destroyed the item to recover the mods without warning, even though the NPC vendor was listed as "recover mods from item". The play style gets boring, the enemies seem to move faster and faster. The deer that I killed with a 10pt pistol, level match you and take a lvl15 assault rifle nearly a full clip to take down, if you can as they blur across the screen. And don't get me started on the annoying rats in the dungeon crawls. Which by the way are boring and repetitive. The game feels unfinished and lacking maturity.
Скучно, всрато, криво
Awesome game. Fun fast pace FPS dungeon crawler with hard hitting guns!
The game is in beta so expect bugs and jank, but still there is something about it that Is satisfying... The game feels and reminds me alot of Necrovision and Serious Sam. Give it a go and who knows, you may enjoy it too.
Clean gameplay without a lot of character set up needed. Could use content. I hope there are plans for a major update. Well done.

perfect mix for some good grinding and its beautiful considering independent, cant wait to see more in the future so far its worthy of a purchase for those mulling it over!
There are the bones of a decent game here, but the whole package falls short constantly. Story? A semi-functional Warhammer 40,000 knockoff. The Emperor's in a coma, daemon cults are running amok, the standing army is barely holding things together, and 90% of the people you interact with in the sadsack world are already dead or will be by the time you're done talking with them. Such is life on Volg. Design? A nebulous (thing)Punk aesthetic from somewhere between World War 1 and 2, that mostly looks good enough... with the tiny issue of brown enemies blending into brown landscapes, or grey enemies blending into grey Ctrl+C Ctrl+V corridors that you might see seconds before you get kidney punched. Mechanics? Functional, but lackluster. Everything scales to player level, so you never get to feel like you're getting stronger; think "Oblivion with guns" and you're on the right track. Only, your skills are even more lacking and it's possible to forget you have most of them. Guns are okay, but also fall short most of the time unless you take the class that can use machine guns and roll up on the daemons like a budget Doom Slayer. Saving grace? It passes the Monkey Island Inflation Test with ease, and if you get it on sale and can slog through something like E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy you might get an okay 8-10ish hours out of it.
High potential with some huge flaws. The setting is awesome along with the combat idea of blending gunplay and magic. But enemy autoleveling ruins the whole excitement of leveling up and progression. The enemy behaviour suggests the use of a dash, but there is none in the game, so instead of creating various tactics which would be possible with the dash move, there's only one - keep distance and shoot. There are some artistic flaws as well. For instance, adding fade ins and outs when the scene changes (like in dialogue or on death screen) would make the whole picture to be percieved way smoother. Dialogue windows look like placeholders in an alpha build. The vignettes of spells are confusing and give a feeling of taking damage, rather than inflicting it. And now for the elephant in the room - sound. It is VERY poor. 90s FPS sounded better. The guns lack some high frequency sounds, like mechanics. There is no impact of combat and even the explorating. The hit pots produce the sound of a porcelain cup being put on a saucer. Soundscape is filled with ambient sounds, yet feels empty. Some ambience SFX is not perfectly looped. And the music...Well, it's just there. It does not create any tension or provides any emoional impact. The sad thing is that this is not an early access game, it is a released one, so there is no chance that the flaws I touched will be addressed, which will keep a potentially acclaimed game in the swamp of mediocrity.
