A lot of fun with friends!
This truly is the Ms Paint of Vr 3d modeling. With Multiplayer!!! The glory of the original ms paint is an experience onto it's self, now take that that same Raw feeling you get it right here... And it's still being perfected! It's fast, and hard as a diamond. It can run your computer on easy street, or throw it into the flames in space with "quality" settings. It would not surprise me if this could easily run on the Oculus quest, or some persons hack job involving a vive on a ti84 My only requests to improve this product: There is weird glitches with the stamp tool, a rework on that should fix things up. I would like to have a menue'ed library of "stamps" that I can save. That'd be a very nice touch. Also search feature for saves, and adding names to saves/tags that can be searched would be great little thing. An option to label your work as 18+ to help clean up the community, and to have the works report-able if they are 18+ and didn't label themselves as such. 10 reports= moved to 18 + should do?
Makes me want to create stuff, and it’s a blast with family/friends. The absolute size of what you can make is huge, great for concepting and raw creative output(way less heavy processing needed compared to medium), easy enough to import into blender, quest version also works great, little-to-no compromise. Only down side is it doesn’t have the same power as something like medium, but at the same times it’s not meant to be and as stated before, it’s loads faster than medium because it’s not doing much heavy lifting, making it perfect for quick concepts and creative fun.
It's not a bad sculpt app- but def not a good one for casual players its hella cool and it works- but I was looking for one that was more.... professional focused? I guess? The lack of a tool to increase the polygon count on the model so it can be more easily be smoothed is dissapointing, and there is a terrible lack of brushes. I would like to see some tools that allow you to move things based on where you grab them, and the ability to "iron" things flat.
This is ideal for making ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with friends, not really ideal for any serious sculpting workflow. That being said, it really is ideal for making ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with friends. I've had a ton of fun having sculpt sessions with buddies, then scaling ourselves down and making dioramas inside of spongebob's brain or something.
unleash you creative flair in VR with friends then 3D print them to haunt them forever #MoonFarter
I think I'd would probably come to love this quickly, but currently I have a hard time getting anything done in it due to accidentally grabbing everything constantly. With my hands at rest (Index Controllers), this counts as a grab, and in order for me to not grab I have to fully extend all my fingers, which can be a bit of a pain. Some sort of setting to calibrate how close my fingers need to be or how hard I need to grab for the control to trigger would be vastly appreciated. -edit- As I suspected I did quite enjoy messing around a bit in SculptVR, though I've got some practice to do if I want to make anything interesting with it, which I do. I really appreciate the quick response and update Nathan! I look forward to using this much more frequently and trying to build a new skillset in a much more intuitive way than flatscreen has been to me. I feel I should perhaps note that for whatever reason when I initially launched the game again it wouldn't load at all until I switched to the beta branch, and switching back made the non-beta branch work as well.
After several years since last checking, it seems like this is still the best affordable solution for sculpting and exporting to blender without retarded subscriptions, and without needing to make some dumbass third party account.
Product refunded, the game started once, and it was pretty bare. I was expecting to be able to find popular and highly voted worlds to explore, but was met with a generic 8-item-per-page browser with no ability to filter results. First selection was a big set of female chest muscles, so not really what I want my kids to access. Second boot up, black screen. I also tried the oculus-cross-play build, which was also met with a black screen. I bought the game with the intention of being able to play with my kids, and it can't do that, at least on my devices. Everything about this was a let-down but the actual "sculpting" was pretty cool for the 10 minutes it worked.
Hands down the best art app in VR.
