Scott Pilgrim EX is an action-adventure game where players can fight as Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, Matthew Patel, Gideon Graves, Lucas Lee, Roxie Richter and Robot-01 as they battle through the fractured time and space of Toronto. The combat gameplay is driven by instinct and improvisation - a hectic ballet of fists and flair that rewards strategy, spontaneity, and a good bit of brawling chaos. String together stylish combos, experiment with wacky weapons and unleash over-the-top special attacks. Characters can be upgraded with special badges that unlock new abilities, enhance their stats and grant special bonuses. Players will explore a whole city of interconnected levels to meet old and new faces, complete quests, and discover hidden areas. Multiplayer co-op, local or online, lets up to four players join in on the action, making it a fun, dynamic experience.

Works well on both Steam and Steam deck. Combat in the game is really great, Music sounds amazing, graphics are amazing, and most importantly the references are awesome!!
I want to start with I think the game itself is definitely good but the price doesn't match it. This game is a $9 game because of how short the game is. there's only 12 quest to follow in it which if ya play straight through it, it takes about an hour to an hour and a half. so the $24 price point just isn't worth it. You can replay the game with a different character but there's no point in doing that. Remona isn't even a bit character in the game. She's pretty much your character switch and just make an apperance as a background prop during the ending. They also try to throw a scene that mecha scott was really someone else... like you'd be like oh snap! I wouldn't have seen them as the character.... yeah they aren't part of the scott pilgrim universe at this point... so yeah...

*review comes from a person who completed the game in Co Op with friends* Scott Pilgrim EX is a "loose" sequel to Scott Pilgrim Takes Off from Netflix. What EX offers as a sequel as well to the Movie Tie In Game from 2010 is a wide expansion of the original game's DNA and amps it up a whole nine yards. Unlike it being level to level, It features an open world that's draws inspiration from the South Park games. While the open world is full of references to both the anime, movie, and the source material itself that many fans (myself included) will appreciate, the design of the map forces you to backtrack to several different past areas of the game that often at times felt like padding to prolong the games length. The music I feel wasn't as memorable as Anamanaguchi's prior work, there wasn't a track that stuck with me for the entire 5+ hour playthrough. What saves the game is the combat and how refined everything feels with the new assist and equipment feature which allows you to experiment a build for your fighter and tweaking it your liking and the story was great, I really wish it got voice acting if its gonna be constantly 50+ chat bubbles every 30 mins. me and my boys then again greatly enjoyed the game and praised it for be a worthy follow up to the original game. keep in mind this might get delisted once the rights expire again in a few years so cop eventually if you a fan. 8/10
