Your aunt’s dead, your cousin hates you, and you’re stuck in the dead-end town of Scarlet Hollow. Choose your path through a branching narrative so dense that you'll see less than 1/5 of the game on a single playthrough. You won't be able to save everyone. Good luck, and welcome home.

About
From the developers of Slay the Princess, Scarlet Hollow is an immersive horror-mystery with sharp writing, impactful choices, and meticulously hand-drawn art.

Coal mines sealed off after a deadly collapse. Strange creatures preying on livestock. Houses infested with vengeful spirits. The sleepy town of Scarlet Hollow has suddenly come alive with horrors, just in time for your arrival. This was supposed to be a quiet getaway in the rural mountains of North Carolina. All you had to do was finally meet your long-lost cousin and comfort her through her mother’s funeral. But now, each new day welcomes new nightmares.
You only have to survive a week. But can you get to the bottom of the horrifying mysteries haunting Scarlet Hollow before they claim your life?
The first five episodes are available now, with one major content update planned before the story reaches its conclusion.
Features
A heavily branching narrative where your decisions (actually) matter. The relationships you forge and the decisions you make will dramatically alter your journey.
A complex paranormal mystery. Investigate haunted houses, strange sightings in the woods, a deteriorating mine, and more as you try and piece together what happened in Scarlet Hollow.
Trait-based dialogue and role-playing. Scarlet Hollow's dialogue system is driven by role-playing elements that let you choose who you want to be. Are you quiet and observant? Hot and clueless? Can you talk to animals? 21 different character builds change how you interact with the world and how your story unfolds.
A dynamic relationship system that reacts to your every choice and changes how your story unfolds. People won't just like or dislike you. Become friendly rivals, bitter adversaries, best friends, or mild acquaintances with everyone in town based on how you approach the story.
Original monster designs inspired by Appalachian myths and cryptids.
No jumpscares. All of the horror in Scarlet Hollow comes from dread, tension, and a sprinkle of disturbing imagery.
A touch of romance. Whether you're into goths, dads, moms, paranormal investigators, mysterious recluses, or actual monsters, you'll find something waiting for you here. And if you'd rather avoid that entirely, your story won't be any less for it.
Hundreds of meticulously hand-drawn and traditionally inked backgrounds. Every background in the game is hand drawn and inked by Ignatz-winning graphic novelist Abby Howard.
Fully immersive art. Each major character has dozens—and often hundreds—of hand-drawn sprites that interact with backgrounds and capture a full range of lighting, emotion, environment, and outfit changes.

I've played Slay the Princess, another great game, and this game follows the same level of quality in the intriguing story and beautiful visuals. I genuinely love this game and I can't wait for it to be fully released! The one "complaint" I have is that I wish you could edit the name of save files. I want to do certain playthroughs and try certain routes and it'd be really helpful if I could label save files so I know what route it is without having to load it and then realize I loaded the wrong save.
Beat chapter 5 and holy ♥♥♥♥ what was that ending im so confused, i feel brain ♥♥♥♥♥♥ (referencing that one scene in scary movie)

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A great thriller with way more player choice than I've had in most games, made even better by the fact that most choices have way more consequences than you'd expect. There is also a lot of replayability, since the player traits actually open and close story paths which are often revelatory. Even if you aren't a fan of mysteries, which is quite good in ways i can't comment on without spoilers, the well-written characters will keep you engaged.
Fantastic game. Killer art, characters that really make you feel, and wide reaching effects from your choices that make each one feel important and like they matter, and each playthrough unique and like a piece of the puzzle. Definitely worth checking out for anyone who likes visual novels or even has an interest in trying them. Kaneeka my love. Tabitha my dear cousin. Each playthrough gives you something new to chew on, something new about your favorite character, a new way to look at them, or even see a character in a whole new light. So excited for the final updates, but you should hop in now.

one of my favorite games of all time, im so excited to see where they take this in the last two episodes! keep up the two of you!
I just finished chapter 5 for the first time and.... wow. I've never been the fondest of horror games because so many of them use cheap jump scares to get your adrenaline pumping. Scarlet Hollow truly feels like a horror game mixed with so much mystery. i definitely feel like I have not played enough of the game to have a full picture and the ending (so far) that I got made me extremely interested to find out more as to what will happen. I also have to say that traits do A LOT more than I was expected. I can not count the amount of times that a trait could be used for something. The traits did a lot more to impact the story than I was expecting. For reference, I chose the "Talk to Animals" trait and the "Mystical" trait. Just to touch on that real quick, I wanted to say that it was really fun to see what the animals were saying. The trait was not just a funny little trait that had a few quirks; there were full on conversations and story lines associated with them. Being mystical also introduced very cool aspects to choices that I fear I would accidently spoil trying to talk about. Each character that was introduced was memorable and none of them were one-dimensional. I was thoroughly impressed with how good Slay the Princess was and loved the art style. I'd say that even though I love and recommend Slay the princess, I have to say that Scarlet Hollow surpasses it. I recommend playing both games given that they are masterpieces, but I am surprised at how great this game is even though the game isn't fully released. I will definitely be playing this game for plenty more hours. 10/10
