Your aunt’s dead, your cousin hates you, and you’re stuck in the dead-end town of Scarlet Hollow. Choose your path through a branching narrative so dense that you'll see less than 1/5 of the game on a single playthrough. You won't be able to save everyone. Good luck, and welcome home.

About
From the developers of Slay the Princess, Scarlet Hollow is an immersive horror-mystery with sharp writing, impactful choices, and meticulously hand-drawn art.

Coal mines sealed off after a deadly collapse. Strange creatures preying on livestock. Houses infested with vengeful spirits. The sleepy town of Scarlet Hollow has suddenly come alive with horrors, just in time for your arrival. This was supposed to be a quiet getaway in the rural mountains of North Carolina. All you had to do was finally meet your long-lost cousin and comfort her through her mother’s funeral. But now, each new day welcomes new nightmares.
You only have to survive a week. But can you get to the bottom of the horrifying mysteries haunting Scarlet Hollow before they claim your life?
The first five episodes are available now, with one major content update planned before the story reaches its conclusion.
Features
A heavily branching narrative where your decisions (actually) matter. The relationships you forge and the decisions you make will dramatically alter your journey.
A complex paranormal mystery. Investigate haunted houses, strange sightings in the woods, a deteriorating mine, and more as you try and piece together what happened in Scarlet Hollow.
Trait-based dialogue and role-playing. Scarlet Hollow's dialogue system is driven by role-playing elements that let you choose who you want to be. Are you quiet and observant? Hot and clueless? Can you talk to animals? 21 different character builds change how you interact with the world and how your story unfolds.
A dynamic relationship system that reacts to your every choice and changes how your story unfolds. People won't just like or dislike you. Become friendly rivals, bitter adversaries, best friends, or mild acquaintances with everyone in town based on how you approach the story.
Original monster designs inspired by Appalachian myths and cryptids.
No jumpscares. All of the horror in Scarlet Hollow comes from dread, tension, and a sprinkle of disturbing imagery.
A touch of romance. Whether you're into goths, dads, moms, paranormal investigators, mysterious recluses, or actual monsters, you'll find something waiting for you here. And if you'd rather avoid that entirely, your story won't be any less for it.
Hundreds of meticulously hand-drawn and traditionally inked backgrounds. Every background in the game is hand drawn and inked by Ignatz-winning graphic novelist Abby Howard.
Fully immersive art. Each major character has dozens—and often hundreds—of hand-drawn sprites that interact with backgrounds and capture a full range of lighting, emotion, environment, and outfit changes.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This one is deep, thrilling and excited narrative game I've played this year so far! Storyline keeps you intriguing all the way, you are care each and every significant person in a town. Most interesting method, used by developers, connected to "gray morality". You will face it for sure, and many questions and doubts will drill your brain: - Should I trust him/her? - Who is really evil here? - What if I will do an opposite choice? - Should I tell you that? - And many-many more... Special thanks for small warinings before your hero can die. Great, that these moments are not in all of a sudden manner. Love "think - think twice - then do" algorithm, it's close to me. These are Pros, and what about Cons? So far (after all 5 Episodes) I've noticed only one - some discussion points between heroes are abolutely useless or a little silly, given the context of environment. But this is not common through the game, so doesn't affect the final mark. ------------------------ ------------------------ VERDICT: 10 Books of Magic out of 10! Breathtaking and brilliant narrative game. Recommended for everyone, who loves mystical and non-trivial stories with interesting characters!

me and my friends would've killed ditchlings with hammers I can tell you that much
You can actually just interact with the characters with the expectation that they will respond naturally to what you do (i.e. roleplay, immerse yourself). That might not sound like a big deal but it is. Typical game narratives try to give you the feeling of an immersive story by all kinds of methods to get you to suspend your disbelief, but if you pay attention (or you overthink things) you can see they're pretty shallow. It's especially apparent on later playthroughs when you try to really screw around and realize how railroaded the story actually is. This game looks like a visual novel but if you've played any other VN you know that you can sense right away how the game is putting you on one of a handful of predefined routes, and that you have to do certain things to get the route you want or the "best" route, and it's hard to play those games without having that awareness take over the way that you play (i.e. metagaming). The amount of possible world states in this game is enormous. There are surely world states that the devs haven't even thought of, but that are still coherent story-wise, because it's an emergent narrative with many moving pieces, not just single a branching tree. The game (and its characters) track pretty much *everything* you do. Characters each have their own view of you tracked on a bunch of different axes (this is never shown in-game, you just see the effects of it, which is what makes the characters feel real. That, and how they have their own things going on, they have their own secrets and goals and when they're not with you they're doing something else, sometimes they're interacting with each other and that has huge consequences later, some might lie right to your face the whole game without you realizing, some might give you a fake smile while actually thinking you're the most annoying person they've ever met. There are huge sub-plots with tons of dialogue and custom background art and so on that are completely missable and you will definitely miss some of them on a first playthrough (you can't do everything). And you can feel that while you're playing it, that there are other drastically different ways things could have gone. There's literally no other game like it, this becomes apparent after you've played it.
holy peak need part 6 asap
