Short story time... Missed one collectible in an hour long level. Re-entered level to grab collectible. Can't get back to hub world without beating hour long level again. Uninstalled game.
I don't really get the mix/negatives. The gameplay was actually smooth with no real bugs, and yes, the story and game is really short, with no real puzzles: but it is all about the adventure and learning the story at a casual pace~. I think my only real complaint is the frame rate. I had aloot of it drop, even after forcing it to set at 60 fps. I think this is due to actual 'Audio overlap': as I had alot of water moments that sounded like the audio was overlapping 10+ of the same sound causing that crazy 'lagging music/ambiance' sorta stuttery sound too. Otherwise: The story was actually straight forward, but cute. It is kinda rushed, but again, short game and is all about just telling you the story of why you are journeying. I think another small complaint here, is the 'Ink' or 'Darkness' "secrets" you find: are *too* obvious to find honestly. And these are required for a special ending like most collectible games. Just after finding the first 3-4: you already know the 'secret of the scarf' and who you are- which that really does feel overly rushed or given away. But I also love that it has this little twist in the story too. *The world/graphics: Beautiful~. I especially loved the Forest obviously cause I personally love them in any game or irl lol. But it was just fairy-tale like and mystical. *Music: also beautiful~. I'd def listen to an OST of this. *Gameplay of skills: I think worked perfectly for me all the way. No fails or lags etc. In fact, some puzzle feel even skipable because the glider seems too OP for its own good lol. I know I've notice I flew over a few small puzzles: that woulda just took me a second to do anyway to unlock a bridge or something. So overall rating: 9/10 I suggest the game: for a short and interesting story told, and even the narration is pleasant and fitting. I would suggest it on sale tho: espesh for them to never fix the frame rate bugs.
SCARF, developed by Uprising Studios and published by HandyGames, is a gentle and artful 3D platforming adventure that embraces atmosphere, emotional storytelling, and visual charm over difficulty or spectacle. It follows a small, childlike protagonist who forms a bond with a living, shape-shifting dragon-scarf. This curious creature is searching for fragments of its mother’s power, stolen and scattered across several mystical realms. What begins as a simple quest quickly becomes a quiet meditation on companionship and purpose, framed within worlds filled with mystery, soft colors, and lyrical design. SCARF is not built to challenge reflexes or deliver intense action; instead, it invites players into a calm, immersive journey centered around movement, discovery, and subtle narrative symbolism. Each of the game’s realms presents its own visual identity — vibrant meadows overflowing with color, harsh deserts shaped by ancient structures, and snowy mountains etched with solemn silence. These environments are not only appealing to look at but structured as open, explorable spaces filled with gentle puzzles, hidden paths, and platforming sequences that slowly build upon the scarf’s evolving abilities. Early on, you rely on basic jumps and glides, but as the bond deepens, the scarf bestows new powers: extended gliding, swinging from anchor points, slingshot-style propulsion, and other traversal techniques. These abilities allow the world to open naturally, giving exploration a light sense of progression. Much of the game’s satisfaction comes from navigating its spaces gracefully, using momentum and timing to reach new platforms or unravel environmental puzzles. The puzzles themselves emphasize observation and intuitive logic rather than mental strain. Many challenges involve activating mechanisms, guiding energy flows, manipulating objects, or using scarf abilities to alter the environment in specific ways. These tasks fit well within the game’s serene tone: they are clever enough to feel rewarding but never overwhelming or cryptic. Because SCARF avoids combat entirely, obstacles are framed as intellectual or environmental rather than threatening. This design choice reinforces the overall gentleness of the experience and makes the journey accessible to players who may find traditional 3D platformers too stressful. The lack of danger also encourages exploration, allowing you to linger in spaces, study their details, and find hidden collectibles tied to the game’s deeper lore. Atmosphere is undeniably one of SCARF’s greatest strengths. The art direction is whimsical yet sophisticated, using painterly lighting, harmonious color palettes, and expressive animation to create a world that feels both childlike and mythic. The scarf-dragon companion adds emotional weight to the experience, reacting to discoveries, shifting form to enable new abilities, and embodying the game’s theme of connection. The music and sound design further enhance the tranquil tone, guiding players through landscapes that often feel closer to moving illustrations than typical video game environments. The storytelling is minimalistic, delivered through symbolic imagery, environmental hints, and optional collectible “Ink” fragments that chronicle the scarf’s history. This wordless narrative style allows players to interpret the journey personally while still providing enough structure to drive the central emotional arc. However, the game’s understated approach also results in limitations that may affect players differently depending on expectations. SCARF is short, with most players completing it in only a few hours. Its puzzles and platforming rarely escalate into complex or demanding sequences, which can make the experience feel linear or simplistic to genre veterans. Some may find the low challenge refreshing and meditative, while others may feel that it lacks mechanical depth or memorable, standout moments. Additionally, because the narrative relies heavily on environmental interpretation, players who prefer direct storytelling may find its symbolism too sparse to fully satisfy. A few segments can feel repetitive due to the relaxed pacing, and the absence of enemies or high-stakes obstacles means the emotional rhythm remains consistently subdued. Despite these constraints, SCARF succeeds in delivering a cohesive and heartfelt adventure shaped by aesthetic beauty and gentle introspection. It stands out not by reinventing platforming mechanics but by applying them with sensitivity and purpose. The companionship between the hero and the scarf feels genuine, the world invites wonder, and the experience as a whole offers a peaceful retreat from more intense games. For players who enjoy titles such as Journey, Rime, or Abzû — games that prioritize mood, subtle narrative expression, and artistic elegance — SCARF offers a similar kind of quiet magic. It may be brief and modest in scope, but its warmth, artistry, and serene design leave a lasting impression for those open to its tranquil charm. Rating: 7/10

ITS RELAXING AND FUN
Really enjoyed it. Named the scarf Noel.
This game is extremely glitchy, laggy, and hard to navigate, even more so than Abzu, and that alone ruins the experience completely. On top of that, the gameplay was the very boring casual puzzle solver type without any interesting parts and bad controls, and the story was extremely shallow, with only the vague pixilated graffiti on the level walls, and the vaguely scared but weirdly uncaring spirits to imply that the scarf is possibly evil and should be killed. 2/10 If it was not so badly made and the gameplay was fixed it would have had potential, as I liked the twists of the ideas where darkness is not always pure evil and you should not always help others you have little reason to trust or aid. Unless the developers release a remastered version of this game like goat simulator did, do not buy this under any circumstance! Saurian is more fun than this, and that project was reveled to be a incompetence ridden scam...
