This game found me at a time when I was reminded that Robotron 2084 is one of the most satisfying arcade video games in our history. There's been some fine twin-stick shooters that have since followed, but this is the one that I believe could stand next to it. It's not a one-to-one experience if you're reading this as a die hard Robotron fan. Instead, it comes with the additions you would expect to see in a modern approach: multiple lives, powerups, randomized levels, etc. Nothing about that is meant as a knock, just to be clear. Because there really isn't too much to be disappointed with! If you're not a fan of the moving camera you see in the trailer, for example, know that it can be made static and that it certainly enhances the Robotron vibes. And the vibes of this game are great, especially the sound effects from powerups, collecting friends, and level transitions. It's a very confident game that knows exactly what it wants to be. Highly recommended.
