About

After a car accident, you wake up in a gloomy asylum with your head wrapped in bandages. Many questions remain, but the most important one to solve is: what are you doing here?

Sanitarium features a plot intricate set in an intense dark world where a very thin line separates senses from madness. There are many riddles to solve throughout this immersive and captivating adventure that will make your head spin with terror.
Even now, Sanitarium is a masterwork suitable for point-and-click beginners, confirmed or riddle-solving experts who enjoy.

I played this game back then when it was new. I remember I liked the beginning but didnt finished it...I can not honestly recommend this game and Im not sure how much is at fault the age of the game or deliberate designer choices. First problem is the movement. Althought this game is point & click game, you move by holding the mouse button and moving mouse in the direction you want to move. I dont remember this control scheme from any other point & click game. This will get really frustrating really fast. Player character will get stuck on everything, it will go ways you dont want to and more. Also if you want to interact with something or pick up something, 90% of time you will need to manualy move to it, or else player character will quip something like "cant do this from here"... My suspicion is that this was done, because there are two "fighting sequences" in fist half of the game. Similar to those in Harvester game. I guess that game was made in order you play it and designers must realised how dumb are those sequences, but they didnt correct the movement... Second problem is audio...You have multiple settings in ther game for audio, but its still cursed. Even if you turn every sound option off, prerendered videos are still audible and are about 20 TIMES LOUDER than game. I started playing with headphones and nearly got deaf. Then I tried to jank headphone cable from my laptop and learned that when I do that, it canclels the video (like I pressed ESC), thats scary 4th wall break! Even when you turn off the music, it sometimes chimes in, again about 20 times louder to jumpscare you... This happened mainly in Circus part. Almost all time in the background, someone is always yapping, singing, whistiling or humming... its really not conduictive for thinking in point & click adventure. So you gonna turn off the voice audio, right? Well now not only you dont hear main character commenting, but it also turn off subtittles somehow, so now you can only play the game from memory... :D Third problem. Game is, how to say it, rather stupid. Yes I had 14+ hours in it, but... You dont really have "inventory" in this game. 80% of time you have 1-3 items. You cant use item on item. I got stuck 4 times. One was musical puzzle, the classic repeat melody you hear (this time melody and puzzle itself are in the same room...) and I was just going deaf from this game stupid audio jumpscares. Other three times it was just that I was missing a pixel I was supposed to click... If this game had "highlight interactive spots" option it would remove 90% of playtime. So I was usually left to try clicking on everything on screen, and about half the time, I can not cancel main character yapping about what have I just clicked. Full screen puzzles move really fast (like it was speed up in DosBox..), but most character animitions are slow as ♥♥♥♥... I mean game has atmosphere, but the game mechanics are just bad...

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good highly recommend أجوائها مختلفة
sucks that i have to give this a thumbs down but continuously holding down the mouse button for movement instead of WASD is unintuitive and hurts, especially with how slow the main character moves so you will be holding it down for A WHILE to finish the game, so if you have wrist issues (like me) you would be better off just watching a playthru of this...
