About
Sandustry is a factory automation game where every pixel is a resource waiting to be mined, mixed, processed, or destroyed. Explore a vast and fully-destructible open world as you seek out powerful artifacts left behind by an ancient civilization.

You’ve arrived on a vast unexplored planet filled with diverse biomes and beautiful landscapes – time to bring the fires of industry! From humble beginnings sifting gold from sand, you will quickly build a growing factory, unlocking powerful new technologies and production chains as you assess the viability of the planet for further industrialization. Countless options lie before you – will you focus on developing more advanced processing and logistical capabilities across your rapidly-expanding factory? Will you take advantage of local wildlife to aid with your mission? Or will you prioritize the hunt for artifacts, spending valuable resources to unlock access to their boons? And hey, there’s no faster way to mine than with the help of a rocket launcher, right? Build a beacon of industry and automation starting with nothing more than the trusty conveyor belt, incorporating filters, drones, pipes, pumps, and a myriad of other parts as you harness nature itself to do your bidding.

From individual grains of sand and flakes of snow to seeds, spores, and chips of ice, every pixel in Sandustry is a physical entity with its own properties. Discover countless chemical and physical reactions and exploit them to develop your production chains, building a pixel-perfect factory to optimize every step, or embracing chaotic webworks of conveyor belts and lifts as long as they get the job done – but be warned, sand is coarse, rough, and it gets everywhere, which introduces a new layer of complexity. The resources in Sandustry react to each other and the world around them – ice melts into water when heated, which turns to steam and rises if brought to a boil (only to come back down as rain if you let it reach the skies). Sand absorbs water around it, slowly depleting limited reservoirs to provide the wet sand that can be sifted for gold, while watered seeds bloom into flowers that can be ignited with fire to produce vital resources.

Deep beneath the planet’s surface lie countless mysteries for you to explore. Find clever ways to overcome the challenges left behind by an ancient civilization to uncover vaults of great knowledge and power. Nothing punches through a thick wall of ice like a freshly purchased flamethrower, but perhaps you can find a way to redirect some lava instead?

Built with modding in mind, Sandustry lets you explore everything from visual tweaks and hand-crafted maps to entirely new buildings and processes that you can integrate into your production chains. Dedicated modding tools make it easy to customize your experience, share your ideas with the world, and even overhaul the whole game!
As you delve deeper into the planets of Sandustry and expand your industrial capabilities, the challenges will grow, but so too will your ways to overcome them. With fully destructible worlds where every pixel is a resource to be harnessed, your options are limitless.

So, when I saw this game on steam by a youtuber, I fell in love with it on the spot. I tried the demo but it was way, way waaaaaaaay outdated versus what the youtube was playing. Anyway, It was only a few day's wait and here we are, it's finally here. I basically played for six hours straight. That isn't exactly my habit either. Games often cause me to lose interest. I had tons of fun playing with it. What you see is what you get. It's an early access game but it has tons of content. Unfortunately, based on the youtuber, I already know that the sixth phase is the last based on what is available and in six and change hours, I'm already on phase four or five, I'm not sure. I'm referring to the tiers of tech you have available. Anyway, I'm making tons of money but I do feel that the tutorial could be better. I have tons and tons of material of something and I don't know what I'm supposed to DO with it. A lot of factory games have a ingame index. This is material X it is used by Y and L. To convert X into Y you do so and so and to convert it into L you combine Y and X or however it goes. I also think that I'm not playing the game correctly, since I'm not using several mechanics of it, and I'm just making tons of money by converting dirt into gold an then burning the residue and then converting that into gold as well. Just those two alone is making me enough money I can basically buy every upgrade over time. Eventually, those upgrades will be completed and then I will 'have' to figure out how I'm supposed to use the purple stuff and how I can conver that into even more gold. Speaking of gold, I also think there should be a method to improve the gold purity so that the volume shrinks but the value stays the same. Even when I had less than five thousand gold, the volume of it was very big. Shouldn't you be able to smelt the gold into cubes or other things so the volume is reduced by a third? In any case, I'm having tons of fun with the game and there's tons to do but I do have a few other gripes other than not knowing what to do next. The map feels small. It's a 2D scroller, but you can only go left and right in what feels a tiny map. Sure, you can go down. Way, way, way down. But to the right, there's a kind of sand that regenerates itself making it impossible to go down. So a large portion of the map to the right is basically unusable in the sense that you can't dig underground. Finally, while I do personally recommend it, do not impulse purchase. Watch a few let's plays on youtube, so you know what it is you're getting. I don't know how many phases that are currently missing. Could be just the one (although I doubt it, the devs mention something about two years in EA) that much time for only adding a single tech level? There's no way. The number of upgrades could also stand to be MAJORLY expanded. There's this purple stuff you neeed to pay for the upgrades but it's extremely hard to find even with me exploring all over the map. Oh, also don't expect a story of any quality. The bottom line is: yes, buy it but watch reviews first OR if you want to buy it on impulse, set your alarm for one 100 minutes (twenty minutes shy of the two hour limit.) You can do tons even in that little time.
very good i like it it may be lineary but it just started early acces
Absolutely brilliant game. Just buy it, you won't regret it. I've already played for hours in the demo and the playtest, so I know for certain that there's huge value for money here. I wouldn't have hesitated to buy it at twice the price.
Really fun. A bit of a grind but with pretty quick upgrades to make it worthwhile. Reminds me of Mindustry
Easy to understand cozy, sandbox game. So much fun.
What a fun gem of a game! I only played the tutorial and experimented a little yet, but fell in love quickly. So far, a clear recommendation like everything else Hooded Horse publishes nowadays, it seems 👌
Really good game. hits all the right dopamine spots. It also offers a decent amount of challenge in building efficient workflows
