About

A ruinous cataclysm unleashed by a tormented god descended the world of Talamhel into perpetual night. The hourglass of time was shattered and its essence poured across the land, creating an endless sea of sand. The once-flourishing world of Talamhel became a putrid lesion of its former glory and those who called it home are now husks of corruption--violent, undying, unyielding soldiers of death.
But Talamhel is not lost--not yet. For generations, the righteous few have endured. You are one of those few.
On the eve of your induction into the Order of Remnant Knights, the last protectors of man, Talamhel is once-again wracked by calamity. The corruptive nature of the Night Plague has mutated, and the realm of man needs the Remnant Knights more than ever.
Track down the emergent evil and destroy it. Protect the realm of man.

From the helm of your nimble grainwake, carve across the perilous sandseas to confront the source of this newfound terror, but don’t expect a guiding light or a red X on a map. You’ll chart your own course forward--behold the open seas, and choose the heading you best see fit.
But familiarity is a far-flung concept aboard the grainwake--the shifting sands are always changing, revealing secrets, dangers, and paths unseen. Things are not as they seem…
Talamhel is an open world, free to explore and discover as you please.
Every island is a unique, colorful encounter of combat, lore, and plunder.
With tiered levels of difficulty, locations offer challenges that will reward those who overcome.
With a trusted (undead) companion rested in the crow’s nest, you’ll never sail the seas alone.

The corruption that plagues Talamhel has created a horde comprised of both man and other Talamhelic natives: The venerable Ferrum and the insectoid, hive-minded Hashara. Once warring nations have become an abominable army of undying malice.
From doomsday cultists to fallen kings, the foes that guard the answers you seek are determined to see your end. Prepare for an unrelenting, unforgiving combat experience not to be taken lightly. Swing true, dear knight, swing true.
With hundreds of weapon components to be reclaimed from the crumbled remains of civilization, there are thousands of unique weapons to be forged. Find the hilt that fits just right.
Cleave through the corruption with 7 distinct fighting styles.
Bolster yourself with dozens of armor sets, each with their own unique defenses.
Combine and modify your devastation with magical augments, creating a personalized build.

Starspire is the sanctuary that you call home, and its doors remain open to those you deem worthy of its hearth. Along your journey, you will encounter refugees in need of shelter and a Remnant Knight can see they find it in Starspire.
Each person deserving of Starspire will make their new home stronger and safer, but not all are deserving.
Working as an optional companion to core gameplay, Starspire offers an opportunity to test your Remnant traits of leadership and judgment. The choices you make regarding Starspire’s residents will alter your story and affect your fate, as well as the fate of others--but only if you choose to make those choices.
New Starspire residents unlock perks like gifts of exclusive equipment and unique services.
Discover the lives of others, their choices and actions, and decide their fate.
Engage with characters unlike any you’ve ever met, and rebuild a community.
Decisions not easily made: become familiar with the grey area between right and wrong.

The symphony of the sands are brought to life with an evocative, soul-stirring soundtrack composed and produced by the incredible Eduardo Lopez.
Sands of Aura will feature a fully symphonic soundtrack, with a wide selection of instrumentation--from the haunting strings of the antique Viola Da Gamba to the resonant thunders of a professional Bulgarian choir.
These are the unforgettable sounds of Talamhel. The score of a wounded world.

Sands of Aura - 100% Completion Review Score: 7.5/10 Sands of Aura is a Souls Like with a unique dark and melancholy style of art that focuses on a world turned to Sand due to corruption and the Remnant Knight who must find a way to stop it, after fully completing the game i'll give some pro's, neutrals and cons. PRO'S: -Character creation, male/female, face, skin, hair etc. -Good music -Good story with plenty of twists and turns, though it can get a bit convoluted at times if your not reading every item description and quest log update -Tons of lore, item descriptions that give lore, lore about places you visit etc. -Fully voice acted with good voice acting -Good characters that are well written and designed -Good environments with a good attention to detail -Has a sand boat that you can use to sail around the sand sea discovering new places, similar to Wind Waker if you ever played that but with sand instead of water -Tons of armor sets to find that each have their own unique passive abilities encouraging experimentation -Talismans you can find through out the game give helpful passive bonuses that make the game a bit easier -Npcs you find throughout the game will move to the main hub city and populate it, tavern musicians, armor smiths, shop keepers etc. that give you a reason to explore the world -Weapons, instead of traditionally being found in chests, are crafted and fully customized to be anything from a simple sword, to a dagger, glaive, axe, pole arm or a mix of multiple, different pommels that each give different effects, spells books to make them do even more, lots of customization to make the weapon exactly how you want it to be -Weapons and armor can be upgraded with runes to make them or yourself stronger -No cheap deaths, it's fair and doesn't pull any shenanigans that other souls like to do -Good performance, no lag or crashes NEUTRAL'S: "No Score Change From These" -Time for 100% full completion about 30 hours -Difficulty is above average simply due to how heavily the game relies on weapon and armor upgrades, not the hardest souls like mind you, but up there CON'S: -Camera on wind boat makes it difficult to see, too zoomed in and no overhead or way to adjust the camera making it difficult to see where your going -It can be difficult to find new islands on the sand sea due the bad camera angle and icons for new places not showing up unless you get close enough, there really needed to be some kind of way to help guide players to find islands easier -True ending can break if you go to ruined settlement which is near the end of the sea map before you reach the final ending part of the game, the person who is supposed to show up to tell you about it never does and the character who is at that island isn't there locking you out of the true ending, learned this one the hard way and had to watch it online, so fair warning to anyone who reads this review on that, this is pretty game breaking if you don't know about it before hand Overall Sands of Aura was a pretty solid souls like, it has a rough and slow start due to some of the game mechanics having to be learned by trial and error but gets better as you play, once you hit the mid game and you have more armor sets and talismans it becomes a pretty enjoyable souls like, so if your like souls likes then you will no doubt like this game just fine, but as always, It's.. Up.. To.. You and i'll leave it at that. (^_−).
the camera angles are the worst i have ever seen. when using the boat it just gets so CRAP.....SORRY NO WAY.
This is actually a pretty good soulslike game. I had somewhat low expectations due to the review score, but at the end of the game my only nitpicks are how people look and how you can't change the handle of your weapon. Neither are really that big of a deal though, and overall this game was a lot of fun and very worthwhile. The story, atmosphere, music, and game environments really shined here and motivated me to finish the game. It was a fun challenge, but not too hard, and I'd recommend this. While there's nothing really to write home about, a lot of key elements of a good souls game were executed nicely enough to keep me engaged and trying even if I got frustrated. I'd rate this an 8.5/10. The only games that will have me alt+f4 one moment and then relaunching the game the next are good soulslike games. Great work for a small indie team.
Banger of a game, don't let it go under your radar. Story is solid, combat feels better than other souls-likes from the last couple of years. It's just good, and for the price you'll get an easy 30 hours your first time.
Sands of Aura is a nice Soulslike with a different perspective. I enjoyed most of the game, especially the story. The voice acting is something I really appreciate. I didn't complete it because I got stuck and I'm not willing to spend hours trying to figure out how to do something or how to find another, and I find that a big con. I think the sand sailing is a missed opportunity. It was fun for the first hour, then it got boring. It would've been fun if there were challenges and things to do instead of just sailing from island to island. It's not for everyone, so search about it before you buy.
One of my favorite games - I greatly enjoyed the story, the world, the music, the characters, and the gameplay. My only comment would be to find a weapon and armor you like early on and stick with it (otherwise you'll spend forever upgrading what you switch to). I used the glaive (so much fun!) and IIRC the starting armor for the extra roll.
Very good one. Fun to play. Played twice because of the endings.
the game is just okay. the travel with the boat is cool at first then gets annoying. combat is just okay I would give the game 5 out of 10
