If you're a fan of The Wind Waker, this game is definitely worth checking out.
The art style is gorgeous, the puzzles are fun, and the skins are a nice bonus.
I'm biased towards lizards in general so this game gets bonus points for that lol. As for my actual review, it's a fun little puzzle game, perfect for young kids since the puzzles are simple, combat is extremely basic, and the story is straightforward. Controls are wonky at times, but never intrusive. All in all, I enjoyed my playthrough well enough, which took me roughly 4.5 hours. The game does what it needs to - a little lizard game that appeals more to children than young adults - and it does it quite well.
Fun little indie game, ended up being a bit lacking in polish but was good for the exploration and light puzzling that it intended to do
Chill game. Perfect for a calm day of gaming
I wanted to love this game so much, had been following it through development, but got soft locked in a room an hour in. I reported it on the discord but on scrolling through it seems the exact bug had been reported three months ago, just two days after release. Multiple other areas seems to have been reported as soft lock later in the game too which has put me off and I have requested a refund. I loved the look, the feel and the first island was great fun on gameplay and I won't hesitate to pick it up again in the future if the soft locking/save bug gets fixed. If this happens I will update my review because I really do want to love this game.
I didn't hate the game, but I didn't find it worth the price unfortunately. I liked the art style, and some of the initial puzzles, but after playing the game it really feels like it just need awhile longer in development. It really lacks a lot of polish, I regularly ran into glitches, a lot of the level design was sketchy at best, and in a lot of places things just don't look right. The ending was borderline impossible for me to make out what was happening, it glitched pretty severally, and looked awful. I really liked the demo, but the full game didn't really offer me much more than it. The plot didn't really have anything going for it, very generic. I honestly would've preferred the game if the gods never spoke to you. The poor level design makes figuring out the right way hard, followed by being weirdly railroaded into certain stuff by being told directly things that you don't really need to be told. There's all sorts of little stuff. The "skins" shown color doesn't actually match what color the skin is. The money achievement literally requires more money than it is even possible to spend in game (roughly 2.5k more if my experience is anything to go off of). You constantly glitch through your sailboat and the waves. Also most surfaces. There's gaps you are visibly large enough to crawl through that the game just denies you with invisible walls. All the little things that really make a game come together just aren't there. The game also just lacks depth in a lot of it's mechanics. There's platforming, puzzles, and combat but it's all rather shallow. It's not bad, it just isn't really great either and doesn't all come together. That's a bit of a reoccurring theme. (major spoilers ahead) I think the problem with game is exemplified by the end. Your final reward is you hatch 3 eggs hidden within the temple and the other geckos scuttle away, never to be seen again. The geckos are in insanely large eggs, and hatch fully grown (just another version of the player model). I really think that they maybe could've taken the time to actually make baby gecko models, and maybe make the gecko eggs not quite so comically large. But I guess there wasn't time for that. Overall, again, I didn't hate it, but I can't say I'd recommend it either.
this game is beautiful and very fun!
i love this game so much
This game is so cute and has a beautiful art style! It's quite unique for the genre I think as well. The game tells you next to nothing about what to do yet it's very clear what you need to do anyway by only level design, good example for show don't tell when it comes to games like this. it's also just fun running around and climbing on walls as a little gecko!
Muy buen juego. Divertido de explorar y con puzzles interesantes.
