**THE CORRECT BUILD HAS BEEN UPLOADED AS PER THE ANNOUNCEMENT!** Been following this one for a while now because it looks so Sooo silly! And I was not wrong. The sillyness is the reward. Deamon on my shoulder, Sword in hand. Highly stylised visuals and a random soundtrack (some that fits the period and setting and some that does not!). But most of all I get to slice and dice people and... vegetables.. like an evil pokemon trainer.. What is not to love.! Well it's not perfect, there is some jank to the weapon handling/swings, and the levels are a little sparse, But it runs well, has plenty of accessibility options and the gore and slicing of enemies into large chunks is great!. It's early access so I hope they continue to work on it. and it can only get better!
I recommend this game based on visuals and style. EA means there will be quirks and I accept them for the early access. It is so promising that I wanted to support the dev with a review that matched the uploaded version and not the mistake branch. (especially after I saw the negative reviews from an accidental posting of an old build.) As for what can help: Turn the music volume down lower for the beginning of the game (I couldn't even hear the familiar's voice) The world needs a bit more environmental fluff, reduced in scale, or speed increased Have the familiar create a collision box that has him come back to your shoulder when you get too far away. (It happened too often that I would have to walk back just to close the menu or change a different setting) I will be refunding because it is not really a game I will play anytime soon. I will be following it's development and jump back in later. I hope it continues to improve.
