Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers.
Full roomscale setup is recommended. Wish I could have tested this out with Vive Trackers to see if the feet move well with those. So these are real dance lessons where you learn some salsa basics and then more advanced moves. You start out almost painfully slow. The tutorial is just you marching and then testing your balance. You can choose an avatar as well as his or her clothes. You have lots of options, in fact, I kept clicking randomly and never saw a repeat. The instructors change outfits with each lesson. Then you can choose either dance lessons inside or outside. The difference is the background, I have to say that inside looks better because the outside ones are just not very well done 360 photos. You have two dance instructors but it's obvious the female is running the show. She'll run you through the basics. The odd part is that you'll be doing both the lead and the follower parts (male and female). So things will get a bit repetitive with each lesson and the instructor will repeat the same tips a few too many times. That does get a little annoying, but it also serves to reinforce your learning as things will get more challenging later on. It took me a little less than 2 hours to finish the lessons. I'm not sure I have the final 3 lessons really learned, but the simpler moves I am confident I could actually step on the dance floor and do some salsa dancing. So in the end, I think it did work. You can repeat lessons and watch them from all kinds of angles and even slow them down and then practice with your male/female avatar partner. If you do the moves correctly, your dance partner will dance appropriately. I just wish the practice with your partner could be endless (at your choosing) or at least longer.
looks like it should be a room in VRchat not good enough to be its own game. great idea and you can probably learn something from it but the execution is very bad. It's not just the sloppy amateur looking graphics. Even the lessons are painful to sit through because the interface is clunky and lacking features.
The game have a big potential, but it is poorly finished : - The teacher's voice is badly recorded (too far, too much empty room reverb). - Menu, motion and UI buttons are not ergonomic nor user friendly. - Not enough content for really practicing Salsa (you get the Salsa moving pattern, one turn and it's finished). This game could be the first Salsa simulation to practice at home before going dancing with people. There is effort, intention of teaching, but it lacks of User experience so bad it would looks like a scam. To make this game a real good VR Simluation for Salsa : - Record clear voice for the teacher (with lapel or ear set microphone) - Make simple movements, simple buttons, simple menu, like other VR games or even VR Headset homes. - Make a simpler lobby, just like a big dance room, and you choose what course to play. - Add medium and advanced dance moves, even real videos. You can maybe replace many parts with videos. - Add real Salsa music during courses. - Hardest part, but add responsive bot partners. Doing danse moves with specific triggers, or by choosing the danse move they do. - With responsive partners, add a free dance mode, where the bot dance with the hands triggers while we dance or doing dance moves in a chosen order (turn, cross, copa, turn, cross with turn). That's it. Elaborate a work plan, how to achieve it, if you need more developpers, but adding all that would make the game sell so much more (and even at a higher price). Then you would do other games for other dance styles etc ... People wants to dance, but many are too afraid to go in public as newbies, you have a potential market in your hands.
Schon wieder ein Beispiel von nicht vorhandener Qualitätskontrolle auf Steam. Allein die extrem miese Vertonung gehört verboten, ganz zu schweigen von der Steuerung und dem unverschämten Preis! Teleport only, and changing direction with it only works when it wants to. I looked at the first three levels after tediously teleporting up the stairs and it was still on stuff like shifting your weight. I felt infantilised by effusive congratulations for doing things like standing up and stepping forward and back. Very tedious. A lesson in trying stuff within the first fortnight of buying so I could refund it instead of being stuck with it and wasting money
wat een bagger spel, lijkt wel of ze de vocals opgenomen hebben via skype ofzo. Ik snap niet wat ze zeggen dus dan heb je ook niks aan dit spel pfff, zonde van mijn geld dus!
There really is nothing else like this that I've found. Dance lessons in VR is a brilliant idea! Learning from Youtube and other videos can work fine but it is just so much more engaging to be "in the room" with your virtual instructor. As very much a beginner, it is really nice to have the different control buttons that let you go at your own pace (the Slow button is helpful but also hilarious). The instructor's voice over is really well paced, even and easy to follow. Though the character model is a bit jittery at times with the motion capture, it does a good job of getting the footwork and movements across. I really like where this is headed! This definitely has some really rough edges though, but that is the point of Early Access and this has some early beta vibes. If they can improve the Menu systems, update the graphics and clean up the jank, I think this could really be something special!
I want to get some salsa patten if this game that make lern patten make easy it's become great PLease ~~^^ and if u have skill some cotent into salsa bar and some talking to npc and ask dancing with me and order to dekila make FRD whaching salsa pro dancing show and story mode like movie Shall we ダンス?
