It's an older game, sir, but it checks out! Lots of fun little inside jokes, if you take the time to look for them (I recommend you read the headstones in the various graveyards). The world is open and huge, I have never completed the game, cause I get sidetracked by all those sidequests. I've only ever played the Seraphim, so no idea how the other races hold up. I hate: It will sometimes crash at the same locations, so a few quests can't be finished without a pretty tedious modding process. The game is too old for regular patches and does not have any support, so you gotta get your help in old-timey forums, like some millenial animal. Also hate: Quest companions. Their AI is suicidal and those quests can be frustrating.
Took forever to get working. I get that I have a new PC now and years have passed, but man it's so annoying how much time I spent trying to get this game working. For some reason the driver would say it was installed, but would never show up. Didn't have this issue years ago even though I needed to download the driver then too. I was also able to play multiplayer easily. I got the entire thing working in 5 minutes, but this time around it took an hour or two. Very frustrating, but whatever this game is good besides the fact it's annoying to get working.

I played this game a lot on Playstation. Last I tried this, the PC controls were difficult. However, now it's pretty easy to setup a Playstation controller, so maybe the experience will be similar. I really loved the humor in this game and all the little goofy side quests. Lots of play time in this title if you go looking for it.
Pros: You can fight while mounted, that's very cool. Interesting classes and skills. Reasonably stable multiplayer. Cons: The worst game camera ever, it's simply catastrophically awful. Probably the worst character controls in any game I've ever played too. No strafe and no way to rotate your character using the keyboard. Tap forward and you move a long way, there is no "take a step". Awkward targeting and hit boxes, making some combat arts almost unreliable - especially if you're up or down slope which by the way the camera does not take into account so it's not unusual to only be able to see about a mounts length in front of you while riding around. Poor level design, in every aspect. Enter a cave you'll be ambushed, guaranteed, sometimes (rarely) fatally with nothing you can do, appear and dead <0.5s later. Navigation both overland or underground is very difficult, the map and minimap and quest objective system are poorly designed and implemented. There is no way to quick move something from inventory to stash or the other way. Overall: The game itself isn't too hard or difficult to understand, but there are so many annoyances in nearly every way you interact with it I often wondered why I was playing. I really cannot recommend this game, even if it was free.
