Reviews
I'm recommending this game, but with some caveats... Starting with the good points, the concept of is fairly interesting. Everyone in the game's world has a certain number of points (you start with 100). When you meet someone, you both bid numbers at the same time. If your bid is lower than your opponent's, you steal a number of points from them equal to your bid. And if yours is higher, they steal your points. (If the bids are equal, nothing happens.) To win the game, you must reach the door with at least one point (I think... I never actually lost). However -- and this is where my main issue comes in -- you can just bid 1 at each encounter and make it to the door very quickly and easily. You can do this by bidding any number under 30 really. The game incentivizes not doing this with a high score tracker, so if you're someone who likes these kinds of gambles (you're given a bit of information on your opponents to make it interesting) and aiming for large high scores, maybe you'd like this game. For everyone just looking to reach the door, I think you might find the experience lacking. As a final disclaimer, I only got one ending (which I reached two or three times). If there's a different ending for reaching the door with a certain score, I didn't see it, but it would make me a bit more favourable in my review (since it creates an extrinsic reason to replay the game and strive for a higher score). As far as I know now, this does not exist, but please let me know if I'm wrong.
