About
Rustic Defense is a hexagonal fantasy tower defense game with roguelike elements, generated enviroment with option explore your own way.
Like in classic tower defense game, you build turrets that fight with incoming enemies.
You can research 15 types of turrets that belong to five categories (archery, natural, guns, throwing, splash). Every turret has physical damage, advanced turrets adds elemental damage bonus (fire, poison, ice) and special attack feature. Elemental damage rise overtime damage or slowing monsters.
Also you can unlock heroes (depends on your progress) that helps you.
Enemies incoming from four bioms. The Valley is nearest and enemies haven`t any armor. Mountains, Desert and Swamp monsters has armor with resistances to specific elemental attack.
Enemies are in several classes : normal, special, boss and special chapter enemy.
Map and enviroment is randomly generated. You can choose from 10 chapters that modify generated map and tactics.
Every map contain 40 - 50 waves and can be done to hour of playing.
After each wave you can choose way that you want to explore.
After every game you obtain experiences depends on reached wave. Those experiences you can convert to abilities in a skill tree, that give you advantage for rest of game.
Skills are passive (permament) and active, that you can choose during game in carddeck.
If you have more skills and feel confident, you can choose harder chapter and earn more experience. Later in a game you can research speciality like support from sea, heroe`s special skill or chance to deal epic card that can change whole game.

I was hesitant to buy this game because of the graphics. But the gameplay convinced me. It's a lot more fun than most games in this genre. Some small bugs here and there but the dev is fixing them as soon as he can. I got used to the graphics quickly, can see everything clearly, know what is going on and everything runs smoothly. The game is challenging but does not feel unfair. I am naturally drawn to return and try to beat it. Thumbs up from me. Give it a try, if you like rogue tds. Best regards and have a nice day
Fun TD game. I play a lot of them, this is one of the more fun. There is nice progression to be had and towers gain levels by killing enemies or you can buy them. But if they have half the xp to the level, it doesnt cost the full amount to pay the rest of it for example. Pretty nice feature, i really like the tower leveling up from doing dmg mechanic. Lots of progression as you attempt maps, win/lose you will still get xp to invest in upgrades that take effect in future runs. The map expands each round as you click a path to open with varying biomes that have different enemies as you go further out (mts, desert, grasslands). Its a choose your path kind of adventure. You can also place mines on the map instead of turrets on ore deposits to get extra gold, crystals (for upgrading heroes) and other things. There are heroes but they are a little underwhelming and from what I see they just stay at your base and act as a last minute tower to get that one guy that gets through. You can upgrade them with crystals but it just means they get stronger. You dont get to move them. I wouldnt mind seeing heroes fleshed out more or I might be missing something. It brings a lot of different elements to the game to make it a bit deeper than your normal TD game. I was hesitant because of the graphics but after playing, I didnt mind because I was hooked on the strategy and progression element. Overall a very enjoyable game. I hope to see more updates (which the dev is still releasing them). One complaint was in the beginning i was a bit turned off by having to keep playing to get xp. I learned a lot in those first few matches but it did feel i wouldnt progress without some of the upgrades. After that, its smooth sailing. Point is, you will not make it past the first boss your first 5 or so matches until you get a few upgrades.
One of the best Tower Defense titles I have played last year. Not too impressed at first (I kept losing), but it kept me coming back, as each time, I learnt a bit more and was losing by less. Plenty going on and you really have to stategise in what you put where and upgrade. As you go along, you may be losing, but you are building up the upgrades. Wouldn't mind seeing a save feature (although the waves are not inordinately long) and an increased speed option. Really enjoying the ride - nice graphics (good explosions, particularly when the Bosses explode and the ships hit target) and good sound!
This reminds me very much of Roque Tower, which I loved very much. If you like TD games in that style, you can grab it without worries. Love the use of hexagonal tiles instead of squares. Art style is also nice to look at. Love the music! This game needs more attention from Youtubers.
Incredible game with its own personality, I am completely hooked
Honestly this one’s a bit of a gem As a tower defence fan it really hit the spot for me. I’ve put in about three hours so far and I’m properly enjoying it, it just feels right. Brilliant mechanics! We’ll see how it holds up in the long run but at the moment I’m more than happy with it.
if you’re even a little into tower defense this is an easy recommendation. Honestly, it’s kind of a gem. And here’s the thing even if you’ve never touched the TD before, it still works. I sat down to play for a couple of hours… that time just disappeared. Felt like 10 minutes. It’s the kind of game that quietly hooks you without you even noticing. Super addictive, in the best way.
Really fun td game! A bit of a grind, and some elements may need reworked explanation (specifically mana) - overall, the dev has done a great job.
It is an okay game. The setup is novel, which is a big plus. You get a field and usual weapons for defending your house (bows and arrows are the cheapest). You can open one of several paths and face the enemies that reveals. These are the waves. There is not much strategy involved. The game is easy to play since the controls are intuitive, but difficult to win. I was entertained for quite a while, but did not engage as much as I have in other tower defense games. People's preferences are quite varied, so this game may appeal to some players, but I don't see it as a blockbuster. "Worth a try" game. 6/10
Although i am fairly new to TD games, i find this one rather fun. The music also makes me bob up and down in my chair at times while i plop down my towers of destruction to twart the intruders lmao. The progression screen makes you want to collect the next card and the next. I am not regretting the purchase one bit.
