I’ve realized for a long time that many great games become great because they successfully combine different genres. But that’s only half of it — the real challenge is to implement it properly. This game does an amazing job blending Tower Defense and Roguelike elements. There is a huge amount of content, and it constantly throws interesting challenges at you that are fun to take on. In my opinion, this game is a real hidden gem.
Here’s the thing -- Rustic Defence is one of those games that quietly pulls you in and doesn’t let go. To the developer’s credit, the core loop is genuinely engaging. Each battle feels distinct thanks to map variation, which forces you to rethink your approach instead of relying on the same strategy every time. That constant need to adapt keeps the gameplay from getting stale. The progression system is equally well handled. After each encounter, you earn experience that can be invested into turret upgrades and bonuses. It’s a straightforward system, but it’s executed well you can clearly feel your power scaling over time without it ever becoming trivial. Enemy variety also plays a big role here. Different movement speeds, visual designs, and health pools mean you can’t just autopilot through encounters. The game consistently asks you to stay engaged and adjust on the fly. What stands out most is the balance. Progression hits a very comfortable middle ground — it’s neither too fast nor overly grindy. There’s a steady sense of growth that feels rewarding without undermining the challenge. I wouldn’t consider myself a hardcore tower defense fan, but I do enjoy games that emphasize strategic thinking - and this is exactly where Rustic Defence succeeds. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the experience. It feels polished, well-paced, and absolutely worth the price. 10/10 — highly recommended.
A great example of tower defense done right - solid balance, high replayability and another strong addition to my library!
extremely fun with high replayability and tons of content to enjoy
It's just an amazing tower defense mixed with roguelike, absolutely mind-blowing. I wish I could play it on iPad
Bug-free, well-balanced, interesting, very addictive. Highly recommended
I rarely leave reviews, but when I do, I’m doing it with great pleasure and excitement. It’s very enjoyable to play a game like this that feels polished and bug-free. The skills, heroes, maps, difficulty and towers are all well thought out and the controls are very convenient and intuitive. I don’t have enough words to fully express how much I enjoy this game <3
A simple and relaxing Tower Defense, the music is good, the game has a lot of novelty systems that I havent seen in other TD games, like the special units, heroes system, fog of war, all makes it a very interesting game and worth the price tag.
Tower Defense + Roguelite. Use towers and your deck to defeat waves of enemies in randomly generated locations. Gameplay: https://youtu.be/Wy4rstQdSxM Each location is randomly generated. You see the section containing your base. The rest of the map is obscured by fog, which conceals four enemy biomes and their bases. Depending on the chapter you select, the number of roads adjacent to your base and the number of enemy waves changes. The more roads adjacent to your base entrance, the more difficult it is to defend, requiring careful consideration of tower placement. This significantly increases the game's difficulty. After each wave, you can click one of several yellow arrows to start the next wave and remove the fog from the section of the map adjacent to your lands. The game features 15 types of towers and a mine. The cost of any type of tower increases with each purchase. Towers can be upgraded with gold or allowed to level up automatically by killing enemies. The maximum level is 10. Tower effectiveness is increased by cards dropped randomly. Each time, you are given a choice of one of three. You can increase damage, increase range, or unlock a new tower type. In addition, a tower's firing range depends on the height of the terrain on which you place it (a tower on a mountain fires farther than a tower placed on a field). Mine can only be placed where there are appropriate resources (gold or crystals). Crystals are required for attacks by heroes (the number of crystals required per attack is indicated on their progress card). Heroes are small figures sitting on the roof of your base and attacking enemies. You unlock them as you progress and select them in the game menu. You can have up to two heroes per base. + Generated locations. + 10 chapters. + 4 enemy biomes. + 5 heroes. + 15 tower types. + Resource mines. + Skill tree. + Upgrade deck. + Hero and character cards.
A very high-quality and fun game. There’s a huge amount of content to explore and you constantly want to try different strategies. Honestly there are no downsides, only positives
