A review copy was provided by the developer.
🔶 RUSHAWAY is a 2D platform, ascend towers in 5 different worlds 🔶 Nice graphics, 5 different worlds, and each world adds new mechanics of gameplay. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3454187138 Gameplay is really good, nice fluid gameplay, but minimalism with only moving and a jump button, a tower to ascend with multiples different road on each level, find the shortest / easiest road on each level. Bronze / Silver and Gold medals are rewarded for speedrunning time, but not required for unlocking next levels. Each world has 10 different levels, with an ending boss for unlocking next world. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3454187290 There is a total of 55 levels, for around 3 hours of gameplay. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3454186942 Overall, RUSHAWAY is a nice 2d platform, simple but really efficient gameplay, solid content, and pretty unique gameplay, recommended for speedrunner & 2d platform fan 💚💚💚 : - Great base gameplay - Solid content with 5 worlds / 55 levels - Optional medals to get + ability to play again other players in a ghost race. ❌❌❌ : - Lack of checkpoints, mainly for boss levels
Follow IndieGems for more reviews like this one. A nice little speedrunning game, reminds me a lot of Dustforce.
Very nice indie game! Good platforming experience, here and there you get a little lost at where to go but once you clear a level like that it feels really rewarding!
I absolutely suck at it, but it feels amazing to play! Well polished, good vibes, great game.
oh my word. This game!!! First of all, the intro made me really care about the game world and its characters. I think the writing could be more polished but the underlying theme and story is really good. The art is very cute, minimalist, and efficient and communicating. Although the menu signs saying 'continue/back' on lower right side seem redundant as they're not used. Getting to grips with the mechanics is quite frustrating but I'm also not the best of players of this genre so it's probably a ME problem... BUT the tutorial was challenging as not every key press is explained to the player which might be a problem for others who don't tolerate frustration as well as me lol. When I *did* manage to get used to it it felt VERY satisfying to jump around and reach the top. It really reminded me of a school teacher who used to say we (students) didn't deserve the light... xD But anyway... The music is *excellent*! It goes perfectly with the genre and the art style. It made me want to have all songs on loop for when i'm working. Overall a really fun and frustrating game, making me want to play all day!!
Pretty cool indie game. It reminds me of Neon White with the different ways to play and get to the end.
A great little gem for platform and speedrunning game enthusiasts alike. There's no doubt you'll be putting a lot of hours into this if you get into it, as it is simple enough for anyone to pick up but quite challenging to 100%!
Fun speedrunning game that can be really satisfying when you get down the movement =)
Watch the full review here: https://youtu.be/3xu96IyyG7I Rushaway feels somewhat like a paradox. It's very calm and relaxing, but at its core is super fast and competitive. I had to rewrite my text several times since it was very hard to explain how well-made this game is. At this price point, it's a steal! Go for it! PROS - a dream for speedrunners; - fast respawns eliminate any frustration when dying; - controls are not easy to grasp, but very fluid after you get them; - soundtrack; - difficulty progression CONS - A bit repetitive.
